I tried the new encoder yesterday, and it saves about 340 MB for the 4CD release over the original dxa encoding scheme. This is great! And with being 130 MB smaller than the original .smk files, the new encoder beats the commercial smk compression ratio. The only downside is that, it took more then ...

You'll have to compile yourself a binary from the svn source files, or wait for the testing fase of 0.9.0 to be concluded.
You could speed up the latter by helping and testing games that still need testing.

Kyrandia 3 isn't going ingame anyway, so best to stick with Dosbox for now.

I use JoyToKey. Great application for games like Simon3D.

I tried the new encoder today (latest build), besides icetrench there where about ten files uncorrectly encoded with the older encoder. Found one bug in the encoder, tell me if I need to report this. When encoding "Get Car", lame fails with: excess arg Get. Input for lame by encode_dxa see...

Ween intro is playing in ScummVM. You can also get a bit in game too, and change rooms. Probably has to do with the added Gob2 opcodes and such. Anyone know if there ever was a CDROM version of Ween? I currently own the floppy version, and the booklet does mention something about the CD version not ...

How about ALT-X. This quits ScummVM, while it is supposed to bypass age question protection for Leisure Suit Larry.

Sounds ok over here. It's amplitude is a little softer then the original smk but nothing which I would call distortion.

So you are using the 2CD version. Makes sense then. Thanks.

I was talking about ADPCM compressed files. Which file gave you distortion then?

Odd, here it's hard to note the difference between the smk or dxa soundwise. Another thing I noted is the size difference per frame, based on your posted debug output: Opening hashed: /usr/local/games/scummvm/feeble/movies/winasoft.dxa Playing video winasoft.dxa frames_count 300 width 640 height 480...

I got the same trouble. Opening hashed: E:\scummvm\adventuresoft\feeble\movies/WINASOFT.dxa Playing video winasoft.dxa frames_count 300 width 640 height 480 rate 10 ticks 100 frame 0 type 2 size 3673 frame 1 type 2 size 15633 And then crash. In my case it is due to adpcm. Without adpcm encoded the v...

Builds used to contain the data you speak of in the ScummVM executable. It was loaded into memory, every time you started ScummVM. This was founded unneccesary, when for instance you wanted to play Maniac Mansion, and Beneath a Steel Sky data was loaded into memory. Especially for ports like GP32 or...

I saw ZMBV compression was added to encode_dxa.
Is it ready for use in ScummVM, and is included in the daily snapshot?

Thanks.
