The reason much information isn't being posted is that I can't really go into detail on what's happening.

But we know where the source code is, we are getting it.. it's just a matter of when.

We needn't worry about data recovery as we have a source who has the full source code. My contact has been very busy recently so things are moving very slowly.

No news that I can share really, other than we were making lots of progress. Things have been quiet lately as I think the person who's helping me get the source code has quite a lot on his plate at the moment.

So yeah, more waiting I think.

Yeah it all makes sense - if it requires x amount of work on their part to legally sell the rights to Gilbert (lawyers and whatnot), how much time and money will that effort cost them? It's not worth their while unfortunately. I had totally forgotten about the impact on the game sides of things with...

He said it's 27 years worth of source code so it's probably not the original server. There's 30+ titles on 17 hard drives so fingers crossed he can recover it as he's keen to release it ALL :)

As far as I know, the only thing you can use to get 5.25 floppy drives working on a modern machine via USB is with something like this http://www.kryoflux.com/ There isn't any way to make a usb 5.25 drive otherwise I believe. It's probably quite likely that he won't have any luck retrieving the sour...

Hi, I've been working on this and made some decent enough progress, especially with the help of some work that john_doe has previously done. I decided to get in touch a few months ago with the original owner of the company who made this game, and he told me he retains the rights to the source code a...

Hi, im an old fan of point-n-click adventure games, esp. the Lucas Art ones and the Broken Swords etc and also want to say that ScummVM is terrific and thank you for making that happen! I just had a little thought I wanna share when it comes to suggestions for ScummVM games in the future. Ive playe...

I have a small suggestion (not a very good one though). Since your doing a simple 2d game (no need for 3d acceleration) have you tried to use the your debugger + the virtualbox snapshot ability to "roll back" the debugger? Is this already possible? I don't think I can debug this at all us...

sirlemonhead, I'm trying to RE Callahan's Crosstime Saloon by Legend Entertainment. The game's executable is a 32-bit program that uses DOS4GW dos extender, so all the addresses are linear and you don't have to track down the contents of segment registers, which is really neat. On the other hand, t...

tsage is a completely different engine, and it seems that it has been used just to play the intro of this game. I.e. the intro is done with the tsage engine, and the game with a different engine. dreammaster has been working with tsage (used in Ringworld), you can find his progress in his scummvm-m...
