I agree. It's a nasty hack.
The Android port should definitively receive more attention.

Thanks for this build. I also think, given the ever-increasing performance of mobile devices, MT-32 emulation should by now be included (but not necessarily enabled) by default in all Android builds. One question: With the above build I experience some minor cracking on my 1,2GHz MetiaTek device whe...

Re: Issues with MIDI configuration on Windows 7
Have you tried it on an SC-55? :P No, but I guess it will sound great. Do you know whether the Virtrual Sound Canvas runs on Windows 7 x64? The way to setup an audio device is to set "Music Device" in the "Audio" tab to the device you want to use. If you want to furthermore use ...

Maybe that's not quite to the topic, but the last time I played the Broken Sword games on ScummVM I though to myself that if the menu bars on the top and the bottom of the screen would be made hidden and only pop up when the cursor is moved to the very end (just like the taskbar when it is hidden) o...

Re: Issues with MIDI configuration on Windows 7
In fact I doubt Lands of Lore has better MT-32 music than GM music. Like Hand of Fate Lands of Lore contains both MT-32 and GM music tracs and for Hand of Fate the GM music tracks had more instruments/channels used IIRC. So I would guess the situation for Lands of Lore should be somewhat similar. W...

Issues with MIDI configuration on Windows 7
I'm running the current SVN build on Windows 7 x64. Somehow MIDI does only work with the 32bit build - when I try to use the 64bit build, I can't select any device and all games will fall back to Adlib music. I have another issue with the 32bit build, however. I can't select a specific device for a ...

Thanks for all the hard work involved in supporting LOL! I have only one suggestion - it is not possible to use the walking controls on my notebook's keyboard layout. If custumizable controls, as it had ben proposed, would be to complex to realize, I would appreciate if it were possible to add just ...

Wow that's great - works on Windows 7 x64! Is the mt32emu.dll a special 64 bit compile? If I try to replace it with a more recet build from the munt devel page it won't work...Collector wrote:Here it is, based on the 2011/04/28 build:

Well, there's at least an ambiguity in the manuel that did mislead me (and certainly other people too). The manual says that you will get superior sound on at least two games (Loom and MI), but it ommits to say that you will actually get inferior sound on most other. The manual should be adjusted at...

@LogicDeLuxe: Am I right then, that it only makes sense with these two games (or any other without custom instrument mappings ) and produces inferior MIDI sound on others? If so, why doesn't ScummVM automatically disable the MT-32 on other games if specified in conjunction with GS? I doubt most poep...

Yes, every GS synth has a MT-32 sound bank. This should not be confused with MT-32 compatibility and is worth nothing in most cases. Thanks for the clarification! But what GS device, if not the Sound Canvas, could be MT-32 compatible then, so that the above mentioned options (GS + true MT-32) would...
