I don't know if it makes sense in modern machines, but with older machines DOSbox ismore resource hungry, resulting in delays, stutterng etc. Same with some emulators like UAE. Gameplay with SVM is more smooth as the game runs as a Windows application. Yeah, there's a really enormous difference in ...

Re: Gabriel Knight 2 - English subtitles patch

Hi, I can't get the subtitles to appear in ScummVM, does this patch work with ScummVM and Gabriel Knight 2 (GK2)? Any help is appreciated. I'm having problems getting it to work in ScummVM too. I copied the game files from the discs into a GK2SCUMMVM folder and got it to run. Afterwards I copied al...

Nice :)

I bought those two games now, and I never played Judgement Rites before so that will be interesting! I've played 25th Anniversary before though, my Amiga box is still in very good condition 8)

I don't remember if I had any problems with this particular puzzle, but in these games you always pick up everything (except in Dreamweb I suppose), and if you get stuck you try every possible combination you can think of. I do remember being stuck in Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis for 2 wee...

Agreed, I prefer the games in lowres.

I'm surprised people still use S60v2 phones as they are now 8 years old (Nokia switched to S60v3 in summer 2006 IIRC).

To make a game compatible with ScummVM is an immense amount of work, and will require you to spend many hours reverse-engineer the game and do a lot of C++ programming. I may be out of line when I say this, but my impression is that you lack the knowledge to properly do this. Anyway, to use IRC you ...

This is nice, but I kinda wish they had gone for GK2 or GK3 as they are in more need of a remake IMO. GK1 aged really well with it's wellmade 2D pixel graphics while GK2 & GK3 aged less well with all the FMVs and primitive 3D graphics.

When I watch a video file on the N9 the screensaver gets disabled so I can watch the video without interruptions. It would be very nice if ScummVM for N9 did the same thing, as the cutscenes in some games are rather long. So there's no need to often press the touchscreen during the cutscenes. But be...

I feel that pre-rendered backgrounds from the 90s aged quite a bit worse than painted&scanned backgrounds from the games of the same era. Still ok-ish though. Never been a fan of pre-rendered graphics for sprites though (which Kyrandia 3 fortunately do not use IIRC). For example, I never fell fo...
