Re:
I think the main problem with getting the 3DO version to work with the current version of ScummVM right now is that the DOS version uses 8-bit graphics while the 3DO version uses 16-bit graphics. (Now, I don't think the 3DO graphics were redrawn to take advantage of that, but the filmed sequences o...

I might add, the windows version uses static black and white mouse pointers as opposed to the sweet animated color dos ones. When running it in ScummVM, both versions use upscaled colored mouse cursors. We are doing the same for Gabriel Knight 1. The DOS hires version originally had really tiny mou...

And now I've a question. If I create a patch that patches the original Windows KQ7 cutscenes to the ones I created from the 10 FPS RBT's using xdelta3, so that you cannot get the new version without the original files (even if you extract the patch manually), would it be OK to link this patch? That...

Re: minor AGI IIgs annoyance
I don't know how I missed this reply, and I don't know if it has been fixed already, but I'll respond. On an actual Apple IIgs in a Sierra AGI game, pressing SHIFT for 0-9 mimicked the function keys for the DOS games. I don't think any of the IIgs AGI games used or required the special characters. ...

I'm assuming that you are talking about the music. I have never fully played Waxworks, so I'm not sure if there are sound effects as well. Have you tried to switch to the MT32 soundtrack in the last few years? The code was changed for it, so it may have sounded not as good as it does now (we have Mi...

Re: Gabriel Knight 2 - English subtitles patch
Is this still an issue?laffer wrote:* only works with the Windows version. Again, if anyone can fix this, it would be awesome!
I can look into it.
BUT was does it even mean exactly? Does the patch not work at all in DOS? Do parts of it not work?

The code change, that got posted, only fixes it in Dual-Mode (speech + text at the same time, the original game did not support that). I'm not sure, but it could have been that originally MIDI music played instead. Which makes me assume that it could also be that there was some issue with CD-Audio p...

If that's true then it's already a bug in ScummVM. Applications should never write anything into their Program Files directory (as per MS's specification). That's what %APPDATA% etc. is for. Though I use a custom directory and INI file so I can't say from the top of my head if it's true or not. &qu...

I do read Japanese, but I only own the English versions of most SCI games. I can take a look around for some of the old PC-98 versions, but they're pretty hard to find. I got lucky on suruga-ya.jp and yahoo auctions. I got all of them from there. Right now Mixed Up Mother Goose FM-Towns is availabl...

I completed Conquests of the Longbow (DOS/English) OS : Windows 10 x64 ScummVM Version : 1.10.0git159-g9e9617b (Oct 4 2016 17:00:37). It is completable (did both good and bad endings, and most deaths and optional bits), with no noticeable regressions. Thank you very much. Just added you to the rele...

Re: minor AGI IIgs annoyance
So F1 should be shift 1. The in-game instructions still include the correct shift commands. Sierra changed their Apple IIgs interpreter to handle Shift-1, etc. as a F1. The scripts still check for F1 and not for Shift-1. There was no special support added for any of that inside ScummVM. That made s...

Re: Phantasmagoria subtitles function discovered
It looks to me like there really was a subtitles function hidden in the code and these people have been able to get it out. I have just tried around a bit. I can get those hint keeper text windows, but it seems it doesn't work with audio at the same time atm. For those cases, I get a window, but &q...

The story behind this bug would be interesting to hear. It was shipped, never discovered, never patched? yes At least French, German and Spanish versions of King's Quest 5 were affected. If I remember correctly, the very first English release of King's Quest 5 was also broken near the end and could...
