Why can't you exploit it?

nope, ScummVM doesn't use the registry at all The installer does, though. In my experience the key is HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ScummVM_is1\ Whether it's always that I don't know; I tend to not play with the registry as it's an evil beast---but in such cases it can be...

also: in almost every lucasarts game, there are always figurines shaped like sam&max. In Indy3, in Indy's office on the right there is a Sam & Max Statue. In MI1, on Monkey Island, one of the cannibal's statues by the Monkey Head is of Sam and Max. There's also a portrait of Max (and Sam?) ...

I'll probably always prefer the original. The second I've not really played all that much, actually; and the third, though good, just isn't the same with voice. I've not played 'Escape', however, but judging from others' opinions...

Would you be able to provide a file list? I may as well make it work with both versions, even though I don't see it getting wide use... :)

How about including this and the one for linux in the readme? It would probably make it easier for people trying to batch-convert... Probably with a warning that it may or may not work... I wrote a rather handy Windows batch file myself. It keeps track of missing files, but of course the weakness h...

The exe with the version 5.2.28cd skips the lame-o-copyprotection and the possibility to choose a path, you always start directly in the full mode (no lite mode choosable). Is there a bootparam to replicate this in ScummVM? I always found that going straight to Guybrush "hanging out" pres...

Xiph no longer appears to provide binaries of their reference encoders, but you can get an improved version of OggEnc and a FLAC binary from http://rarewares.org/ . You'll need to rename "oggenc2.exe" to "oggenc.exe", obviously. Similarly binaries of the LAME MP3 encoder are not ...

What I did with my DVD was to have the disc contain all the games I have, but not ScummVM itself. This way the version of ScummVM available at the time of production of the DVD is immaterial. The autorun script (a "simple" batch file) would check the Windows registry to see where ScummVM i...

Use PNG with alpha transparency so they'll antialias themselves to whatever background. That's not acceptable. Transparent PNG is not supported by some unnamed Biggest Corporation's semi-browser. And due to great amount of users of that borwser we have to cope with it. So only transparency which ca...

Unlike Erik, text adventures were a little before my time, so I never really managed to get into them, but to me the best adventure game is one that has some replay value. Of course all good adventure games have some replay value simply because we love them, but games like Quest for Glory IV , India...
