I don't think a hardware modification is needed.
I am assuming that's what you mean by "mod it".

I just think it is a matter of someone picking it up.

I mean there's a PS2 port because someone cares/cared enough.

IMO I this is only neat with rounded things. Check out the gallery to see different sprites acting weird. It also has a bunch of different filters compared I don't think a single filter will ever give you perfect results in all situations. You can get "pretty good results" for a given situ...

It is a shot in the dark but try this:
Uninstall it, delete the directory (if it is still there) and reinstall.

I've been maintaining a fork of scummvm with the gargoyle code applied to it in https://github.com/tsoliman/scummvm/tree/gargoyle
It is basically the latest scummvm but with gargoyle in it.
I have to say though that it sucks compared to frotz or other terminal-like apps.

Not the ideal way but CTRL-F5 works.

edit: and of course I miss the point of why pause is needed in the original post.

Can you be more specific? As far as I can remember there were three different ways to play this game. Which path do you want saves for? How far along?

Also, if you end up starting over, and you want to help test the upcoming 1.3 release, use the 1.3.0pre version of scummvm.

since it's a bit difficult to see where one setting ends and another begins in the config file
I think maybe you should use notepad++ instead of notepad. Notepad doesn't recognize unix-style line endings.

I think KingGuppy is working in linux mainly and SergM is working in windows mainly.
I think those unofficial builds are SergM builds.

Wait so where did you get those ROMs?
The legal way to obtain them is from an MT-32.

Re: Curse of Monkey Island audio lag

The audio in Curse of Monkey Island keeps lagging. It makes it through the cutscene perfectly, but then freezes up and starts lagging when ever they talk. Is there a way to fix this? Can you check the CPU usage while this happens? Does it spike or maybe go to 100% while this is happening? If you ha...
