Re: About the TinyGL

A general list of our changes to TinyGL is available here: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/residualvm/residualvm/master/graphics/tinygl/Changelog As for speed, I'm not really sure, we have tuned it a bit last summer, but in practice it's not really fast. Not really sure about the CLUT-8bit thing y...

Re: antialiasing setting on grimfandango

I think it started out as "semi-official", i.e. not something we'd advertise in the GUI, and just stayed that way. In practice, the way those graphics settings work for ScummVM isn't really a good fit for how we do configuration, so we might want to do something a bit more specific to Resi...

Re: STARK engine

Out of curiosity, is that weird english/german-mixture visible in ScummVM for such cases as well, or do we have a mismatch in our
translation conversion?

Re: Grim Fandango ini-settings for older computer?

Out of curiosity, could you post the HW-specs of the relevant machine? (OS version, GPU and driver, CPU etc). There is little point for us in maintaining ancient GL/Software solutions if the target audience (i.e. those without too modern computers, or computers with limited GL support) can't make us...

Re: EFMI for Mac & the 1.1.2 Update

Would be interesting to know if that artJam.m4b issue shows up without the relevant german-patch. Which reminds me, the only mac-version I own of EFMI _IS_ the german version, so I'll have a look when I get a chance. Other than that, as far as I remember, for the game data files, the Mac-version sho...

Re: Widescreen mod

It's ok, I managed to do it myself. I just had a problem last time (and this time too) with using the right Scumm Revisited version, and getting along with the gui, so I thought I could call for help. Revisited v5 doesn't cooperate on dual-monitor setup. Just to be clear, you shouldn't ever ask for...

Re: Widescreen mod

Can anyone extract first 20-ish Year 1 El Marrow backgrounds and put it online anywhere so I can download them and continue my work? I've used Fraps in the past but if anyone could post them online in raw (were they in bmp?) it would really save me some time. No, someone should not do that (especia...

Re: Widescreen mod

I'm still willing to do it if someone makes the ResidualVM display side-images. Well, displaying side-images is of course trivial (see Remastered's side columns for an example), once you have a 16:9 window with the actual 4:3 game viewport centered inside it. The current issue for ResidualVM, is th...

Re: Converting .bm files...

Also, note that quite a few scenes have videos that play on top of the backgrounds (i.e. the tube in Manny's Office). If you change any pixels around those, then the video will become very very visible all of a sudden (while it was originally intended to blend seamlessly).

Re: PC original vs PS4/PC remastered?

Well, adding something like that to GF Deluxe, would press the limits of ResidualVM quite heavily I'd say, since that demo was done in the Unreal (4?) Engine, which is quite a few years more advanced than GrimE. But hey, if someone has the guts and know-how, it could be done, although, you'd be bett...

Re: Fullscreen software rendering on Mac OSX problem

The problem is that the software renderer draws natively, and does not allow for creating a larger window currently. A (severly untested) suggestion for a fix is available at https://github.com/residualvm/residualvm/pull/1109 That gives me a fullscreen window with pillarboxes (of course, as the game...

Re: I just completed Monkey Island 4 in ResidualVM. Great jo

First of all, thanks a lot for doing some much needed testing of EFMI. If the bugs already exist on github, but you have something to add to them (i.e. steps to reproduce if they lack), then by all means do so. Some of the older bugs may also have people asking "is this still a problem" in...

Re: Road To El Dorado reversing video

I just sat through the entire thing, and I found it a good and steady introduction. You were mostly carefull to mention the hotkeys you used (which of course is important as the viewers can't see your keyboard), and corrected yourself when you forgot to mention them. The first part, where you looked...

Re: Mouse interface for Grim Fandango (Fan made mod)

We do not offer any guarantee of save game compatibility between Grim Mouse and ResidualVM proper (incidentally the same also may hold true while using nightly-builds, as code changes can momentarily break savegame compatibility). This will hold true for as long as Grim Mouse is an external fork, as...
