I was extremely surprised to find this game loaded up and seemed to work just fine. On the wiki page it doesn't seem to be flagged as one of the gob engine games. Dr. McCoy - can you list or point me to a complete list of gob engine games?

cd version works perfect in dosbox for me. just have to mount using the -t cdrom command.

I didn't notice there was dxa and mpeg packs on the d/l page. I went with the first one I saw. Either way, it might be worth noting in the readme that there is no mpeg compression in the daily builds.

My about dialog says:

So it looks like the daily build is being compiled without mpeg2 support.

Running it with debug on tells me "intro.dxa" is not found.

The video files I have are intro.mp2 and intro.ogg, from the video pack here on the site.

It doesn't actually seem to look for the mp2 file. Should I report this on the bug tracker?

The game jumps right to the lead character standing up after the explosion. No intro is played, or anything else. I played through the game (same data files) using ScummV...

while i may not name my kid ScummVM, I have joked about naming him/her barnacle. Kids sorta stick to ya like barnacles do, so it seems fitting...

According to the dat file page, Troll's Tale requires the file troll.img. The version that Al Lowe (game's creator) provides on his page has game.dat and troll.exe. What version is the "troll.img" file from?
