Re: Tandy sound quality in AGI games

Seriously. I had stopped using ScummVM for almost half a year because of the glitched sound. I was experiencing some serious withdrawal.

Re: Unable to run daily snapshots

I tried the nightly build again and got the same error.

Personally, the buildbot works fine for me, but I wonder if anyone else might be having trouble with the nightly build snapshots. Let me know if you'd like me to try anything.

Re: Unable to run daily snapshots

Thanks. I was running the nightly builds. I downloaded the most current 64-bit buildbot version and it runs fine.

Unable to run daily snapshots

I've been downloading and running the daily snapshots of ScummVM for years now, but as of the past week I get an error whenever I try to run the latest snapshots. It reads: scummvm.exe - Application Error The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application. ...

Oh, thank god. Everything sounds great again!

I remember it working surprisingly well around version 1.8, though I didn't play too far into it. There were no crashing or obvious graphical glitches.

Is this something I should post a bug ticket about, or is it more like a personal problem?

I'll try it, but could you please tell me how I could go about doing that? Thanks!

If I switch back to stable version 1.8.1, everything sounds good again.

Also, I tried this on both my internal sound card, and on a USB sound device, with similar results.

I'm using the Windows32 snapshot.

I tried changing the audio buffer to every setting mentioned on that page, but the sounds still sounded distorted and crackly. On some of the higher settings, there was a regular sound drop-out in addition.

By the way, I tried out a variety of games on different engines, including multiple Lucasarts and Sierra games, Beneath a Steel Sky, Blue Force, Kyrandia 2, and Myst.

Bad sound on almost all games

Since some snapshot between stable versions 1.9 to 2.0 I started getting bad sound on most games, and this continued onto stable version 2.0 and up to the current snapshot. Basically, sound skips frequently and is moderately distorted. This applies to digital sound, Ad-lib emulation, and MT32 emulat...

I like the hair-color-change feature a lot too. I think it's in all versions of the game. I can confirm that it's in the 256-color FM-Towns version you can buy on GOG.

I want to particularly thank whoever fixed the score bug that was in the original interpreter of PQ3. We can finally actually get a full score!
