Re: Just throwing a suggestion out there - integrated hint book system?
I swear, this is uncanny, I was thinking about EXACTLY the same thing the other day! As you said there's a big hurdle on this: we have to carefully inject some kind of hooks into the game code, and this might not be feasible for every game. But just so you know, I'm beginning to think about it... :D...

Re: Curse of Monkey Island - Music stutters
Oh, a Scarlett! I had that one too! Gen 2 as well 😄 My advice would be to refrain from playing using that Audio Interface, the reason being that its Windows drivers are *very* broken. That's one of the reasons I switched to another audio Interface for recording and producing music. This game uses an...

Re: Curse of Monkey Island - Music stutters
Heyhey! First of all, with "latest" version of ScummVM you mean 2.7.1 or the latest daily? (Try the latter one, just in case) ScummVM sets up the audio device at start-up and it shows some information on the text console: can you tell me what is the value for the audio buffer size? Also, w...

Re: Studying sword1 engine
No way! I was just doing exactly that too yesterday, what are the chances of that? Here's my script: https://gist.github.com/AndywinXp/7e42a8b107177f783c7286feeee090b8 Right now I'm only parsing Sprite resources (the ones with compression type NONE). To test it you can open the SWORDRES.RIF fi...

Re: Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis - AMIGA version is not working
Jeez folks, we have it plastered everywhere that we don't offer support for illegally downloaded games, why does this keep happening?
Also, just buy the Steam version, the Amiga version is missing the majority of music

Re: Curse Of Monkey Island - glitched music transitions
Hmm, I'll have to study the feasibility for it, as this kind of hacks usually break other related stuff (also, there's the question about how high the delay should be, given that every computer might perform slightly differently in this case). I'll put this in my backburner list for now.

Re: Curse Of Monkey Island - glitched music transitions
[*] Ok I again downloaded the latest 2.7.0 build and tried it again, strangely enough the Barbery Coast track plays like it should now. Maybe I accidentally launched an older ScummVM build? Anyway, still on the same build, I can only hear like the first 1-2 seconds of the cannon music ending, even w...

Re: Curse Of Monkey Island - glitched music transitions
I've just played Curse Of Monkey Island in ScummVM and noticed a few music playback glitches that I don't remember happening in the normal version. First one is in the beginning right after you shoot the cannon, there should be a small transition track to end that segment, but instread it just abru...

Re: COMI compressed data
Curse of Monkey Island, Full Throttle and The Dig targets were recently updated to use a new sound/music engine called Digital IMuse. The engine needs to access the original music/sound/speech data files (uncompressed) to be able to correctly (and like it was intended in the original) play back mus...

Re: Question about Monkey Island EGA + CMS music
2) The music volume does not seem to be affected by the in-game ScummVM controls (I didn't test with the ones in the Edit Game launcher screen or Global Options launcher screen yet). This affects CMS emulation and Adlib emulation that I've tested. Probably is a more general issue, and ScummVM speci...

Monkey Island 2 (Mac/Floppy/English) crashes while loading
I'm running ScummVM 1.6.0, the files I have in my folder are: MONKEY2.000 MONKEY2.001 MONKEY2.002 MONKEY2.003 MONKEY2.004 MONKEY2.005 iMuse Setups (Renamed both as iMuse Setups.bin and iMuse Setups.rsrc) LeChuck's Revenge (Renamed both as *.bin and *.rsrc) ScummVM recognises the game, but when I try...
