Re: Xeen engine MT-32 support
Hardware is set up properly (USB-MIDI-Interface[ALSA] on a Debian/Ubuntu system). No problems with other MT-32 related games (Space Quest III, Rise of the Dragon) using ScummVM. Also no problem to run MM4 on DOSBox with MT-32 hardware. But all tests with games supported from the Xeen engine failed. ...

Xeen engine MT-32 support
ScummVM 2.9.0 release notes told us MM: Added MT32/LAPC-1 support for Xeen engine. I tested true Roland MT-32 hardware for Might and Magic IV: Clouds of Xeen (DOS/English) but failed. No MT-32 Sound, just Soundblaster (or something else). Game files are (from GOG Might and Magic 6 Limited Edition): ...

Re: Myst III Exile
O.K. the solution is to edit the game and override the global graphics settings and use OpenGL and NOT OpenGL with shaders.
But where is the shader myst3_box.vertex located?

Re: Myst III Exile
I compiled scummvm-2.5.0 from the sources and I don't use the Ubuntu packages that are installed in /usr/share/scummvm. Running scummvm-2.2.0-GIT daily build or (outdated) residualvm Myst III and The Longest Journey both start without any problems. Hmm... But where is the myst3_box.vertex file locat...

I tried Myst III Exile with ScummVM 2.5 (Ubuntu 20.04) but no success. Whats going wrong? [same with The Longest Journey] Console output: <pre>WARNING: SDL mixer output buffer size: 512 differs from desired: 1024! User picked target 'myst3-win-de' (engine ID 'myst3&apo...

MADE engine + MIDI music
The wiki page for engine MADE/TODO reports: 'Only soundblaster music is played. MIDI music playing/MT32 instrument mapping needs more work'. I did a try with Return to Zork + Leather Goddesses of Phobos 2 ... and (what a surprise) both games did playing MIDI music (and not soundblaster music as stat...

Re: Step back in time and visit Versailles at the court of Louis XIV
Yes you are right. Whats about the mysterious RAVENSBG.HLZ file in german versions? Neither my german 2 CD (DOS version) game nor the multi-lingual (WIN version) DVD include a file with that name. The console output starts with: Trying file RAVENSBG.hlz WARNING: Failed to find file RAVENSBG/RAVENSBG...

Re: Step back in time and visit Versailles at the court of Louis XIV
Problem: if you choose the option ´encyclopedia´ in the main menu, the ScummVM launcher (and the game) crashes. Console output: Can't open links file: lien_doc.alm!
Solution: move (or copy) /TEXTES/TOUS_DOC.ALM to /TEXTES/LIEN_DOC.ALM and it works.
[Versailles, Windows version, german]

Here is the console output: -------------------------------------- The game in 'DOS' seems to be an unknown game variant. Please report the following data to the ScummVM team at https://bugs.scum...

Civilization II
Has anyone ever spent thoughts on coding an engine for Sid Meier's outstanding Civ II? Yes, it's not an adventure game, but..
Civ's 16-bit executables aren't friends with 64-bit Microsoft OS's and a lot of peoples' remaining 95/98/XP machines will a near day..
Thanks for reading!

I - for my part - never need a Source-Forge account; I'm NOT a developer; I'm just a 54 years old player, who doesn't offer his private data to any company if that isn't absolutley necessary. I played the game, I didn't finish it, it provided you with information - and now it's your part if you like...

I couldn't finish 'Labyrinth of Time'. Every time I tried to open the metal door with the screwdriver the game freezes up (no mouse, no keyboard control).
I tested: ScummVM 1.8.0 + Linux, ScummVM 1.8.0 + Win 7
