full build

Just a little thing: I installed the complete build and it's named 'ScummVM 1'. Maybe the full build should say only 'ScummVM'.

Thanks! :)

Yeah, it's because on older Android versions (pre-2.3 and buggy unofficial 2.3 builds) the whole binary+plugins has to fit in the internal memory, and a monolithic build is almost 20mb at this point. Judging by the current Google Play statistics, we can probably safely ignore that group of users by...

Why the Android ScummVM is splitted with so many plugins? Would not be possible to provide a single binary?

Thanks!

Great, is an event recorder already planned? Is this: http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/TODO#Event_recorder ? The inside link to the patch is probably wrong, however.

(I am using Linux anyway).

Crazy idea - ScummVM screensaver

It would be nice if ScummVM could be used as a screensaver :D . First, adding recording and replaying support to ScummVM. Then writing a screensaver script which call a replay of a ScummVM game, eventually with some options (e.g. using a 2x speed, disabling music and sound and enabling subtitles). Y...

Hi, :D
sorry to ask again but over an years have passed :D.

Is there any news on this?

If there aren't patent on the format itself there should be no problems in including ffmpeg smacker support in scummvm.

Though now that I think about it, the launcher GUI code should actually not have to wakeup that often. My guess would be that this is the TimerManager, which runs at a fixed millisecond wakeup interval. If that is true, we might be able to fix that particular part of the issue eventually. You could...

smk decoding

Hi, in the README file i see: Broken Sword 1 and 2 both come with in-game cutscenes compressed using RAD Game Tools' legacy Smacker(tm) format. As RAD is unwilling to open the older legacy versions of this format to us, and have requested we not reverse engineer it, Revolution Software has kindly al...

Note that the programs on that list are "desktop-grade", responding that is to events happening roughly with 1 sec resolution. ScummVM is a real-time, "game grade" application so it is expected to exercise the CPU more heavily than other applications (I'd say with in general 1-2...

ScummVM, powertop, and power usage

Hi, some time ago Intel developed a tool to detect power usage of application under linux: powertop http://www.linuxpowertop.org/ . Note that it works with detailed information only with kernel 2.6.21 and later (works well in latest Fedora Core). After the release of the tool there were found a lot ...

(b) people asking why they can't recompress already compressed data to a lossless format *sigh* :-) Well, obsiviously make no sense to support FLAC where music is already compressed AND FLAC compressed file is bigger; in that case FLAC support should be removed (BS2) and the tools should be updated...

The last thing: what's the point in supporting .clf (FLAC) speech in BS2, if, as stated in README in scummvm-tools, FLAC files are bigger than original (already compressed) speech? Obviously, it was my attempt to keep people from asking "Why don't you support FLAC?" And yet no-o...
