Re: Disabling text-to-speech
Yes indeed. The original used the PC Speaker to simulate voice, and pretty poorly as mentioned in the notes. We wouldn't have been able to support it at the necessary rate using the existing PC Speaker codebase.. It would have needed someone to understand the waveforms being generated for the speake...

Re: Disabling text-to-speech
Maybe try setting the volume to zero? I can't remember that Morteville Manor has any sound effects, so even if there's no separate speech volume slider, just setting the general volume to zero should be sufficient.

Re: Can't get games to run on R36S
I can't offer any real suggestions, beyond mentioning that mm.dat has data for both MM1 as well as the Xeen games.

Re: Amazon: Guardians of Eden
In that case if you can make sure other volunteers have that source code, maybe they'll be interested. You misunderstand. There is no source code. Any attempt to support it would require disassembling those bits of the original executable from scratch. But if anyone volenteers to do the work, then ...

Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
" Ripleys Belive it or not: The Riddle of Master Lu ". A title that i bought long ago but never got around to play through. I have been holding off on trying it again, hoping that ScummVM would one day pick it up. Just now we're in the testing phase for Orion Burger, another game using th...

Re: Amazon: Guardians of Eden
Why implementing whole new engines before finally integrating the better version of this game? Because the group comprises of volunteers, contributing to the project in our spare time. FWIW: I'm the primary author of the Access engine; though at the time I didn't think the release I disassembled ha...

Re: Lets Do the Time Warp Again, Or Burger Chow Awaits
I have already reported.... the daily build for windows (as exe it's not anymore available for download) the correct procedure it's download the current stable 2.8.0 and extract in same folder the Master zip from buildbot ? That may indeed be the easiest way since the daily builds, at least for Win...

Re: Alone, Under Strange Night
For that matter, if anyone has *any* of the older free wintermute demos\games that are no longer available, then i would love to get them uploaded to the dead code website to help preserve them. Thank you. There are several WinterMute demos on the ScummVM website's Demos page in both the "Unkn...

Lets Do the Time Warp Again, Or Burger Chow Awaits
A poor test subject is doomed to repeat an hour over and over again. Trying desperately to prove his species worth as something better than merely meat to be ground into intergalactic fast food burgers. The ScummVM Team is pleased to announce full support for Orion Burger, the classic game by Sanctu...

Re: Demand for a game support (memento mori)
Unfortunately, these seem to be recent(ish) 3D games, so reverse engineering and reimplementing them would be extremely difficult. Thus, we're unlikely to see them in ScummVM for the forseeable future. You might be better served looking into compatibility options in Windows 10 that might allow them ...

Re: transferring saves?
Actually, if they are indeed referring to the QFG2 Remake, then it's the AGS engine that's in question, not SCI. In which case, the question is whether savegames from the AGS interpreter bundled with the game that he was likely using are compatible with ScummVM. As to that, I can't remember off the ...

Re: Game Not Being Detected
The most important first thing to check is that you are using a daily build rather than the official releases, since the game is still under testing and is not yet part of the official release.

Re: Bazooka Sue!?
Is it any chance to add support for this game to Scummvm? This is nice cartoon style game, from authors of Lula Sexy Empire, and Chewy Esc From F5. But problem is german only talkie no any subtitles. That would certainly limit any interest in developing for it. Unless the team were donated the orig...

Re: Journey Now Into an Age of Chivalry in an Alternate Reality
Thanks to the bug report, PushmePullyou beat me to figuring out the cause of the startup crash. I've merged in his PR, so the next daily build should no longer have the issue.
