Re: Removed games? (detection engine and other reasons)

there is a hope to see RIPLEY's BELIEVE IT OR NOT added in the compatibility list again in 2025 ? Almost certainly. We just recently finished all the game logic and completed the first playthrough. So all that remains is bugfixing.. a lot of bugfixing, since the game contained a massive amount of h...

More likely shader issues. I remember discussion that Thimbleweed Park couldn't be compiled in for Miyoo Mini because it required OpenGL with shaders. PS3 may well be the same.

Re: List of fan made ScummVM (or original) game enhancements

There's also: - Might and Magic Book One: It provides an optional enhanced mode bringing in the user interface of World of Xeen (Xeen data files required) and the fan enhanced graphics pack. - Ultima VI: Offers enhanced mode allowing for full screen world view rather than the small window the origin...

Re: Hopkins FBI crash

Wow. That's a blast from the past. If you could create a bug report on bugs.scummvm.org, attach a savegame, that'd be good. It would also help to include whether it was the PC release you're playing, or if it was some other operating system. I'm the original engine developer, but I'm working remotel...

Re: Scummvm gui defaults to black and green from shortcut on kubuntu

You may be misunderstanding what I meant, since it has nothing to do with shortcuts. If you look at the attached screenshot, you'll see the Global Options dialog with the Paths tab active. Here you can click on the Theme Path button and specify the folder in your system where you have the files from...

Re: Scummvm gui defaults to black and green from shortcut on kubuntu

It does this when it can't find the theme files to render the more "colourfull" default. If you go the Global Options dialog, you should find the paths, and set theme folder to a copy of the /gui/themes/ folder from the ScummVM source.

Re: Disabling text-to-speech

Yes indeed. The original used the PC Speaker to simulate voice, and pretty poorly as mentioned in the notes. We wouldn't have been able to support it at the necessary rate using the existing PC Speaker codebase.. It would have needed someone to understand the waveforms being generated for the speake...

Re: Disabling text-to-speech

Maybe try setting the volume to zero? I can't remember that Morteville Manor has any sound effects, so even if there's no separate speech volume slider, just setting the general volume to zero should be sufficient.

I can't offer any real suggestions, beyond mentioning that mm.dat has data for both MM1 as well as the Xeen games.

Re: Amazon: Guardians of Eden

In that case if you can make sure other volunteers have that source code, maybe they'll be interested. You misunderstand. There is no source code. Any attempt to support it would require disassembling those bits of the original executable from scratch. But if anyone volenteers to do the work, then ...

" Ripleys Belive it or not: The Riddle of Master Lu ". A title that i bought long ago but never got around to play through. I have been holding off on trying it again, hoping that ScummVM would one day pick it up. Just now we're in the testing phase for Orion Burger, another game using th...

Why implementing whole new engines before finally integrating the better version of this game? Because the group comprises of volunteers, contributing to the project in our spare time. FWIW: I'm the primary author of the Access engine; though at the time I didn't think the release I disassembled ha...

For that matter, if anyone has *any* of the older free wintermute demos\games that are no longer available, then i would love to get them uploaded to the dead code website to help preserve them. Thank you. There are several WinterMute demos on the ScummVM website's Demos page in both the "Unkn...
