Re: Official support for Wintermute 2D engine?
And, by the way, I am not asking for any changes to the engine. From my preliminary testing, the Carol Reed hint system now works! Which is how it should be.

Re: Official support for Wintermute 2D engine?
If it is of any help, I do have an old savegame at the start of Carol Reed 9 – Cold Case Summer that works on ScummVM 2.0.0 but not the latest 2.1.0 git, and a new savegame at the same place using a recent 2.1.0 git. The newer savegame file is considerably larger than the old one. I assumed that was...

Re: Official support for Wintermute 2D engine?
I am sorry if this is totally the wrong forum – maybe I didn’t understand the forum description Fangame Creation AGI, SCI, Wintermute, Sludge engines fangame creation discussion I also do not remember me complaining the savegames no longer work – I have always been willing to replay the games. Consi...

Official support for Wintermute 2D engine?
Given the recent work on the Wintermute 2D engine and the passing of Wintermute 2.5 & 3D to ResidualVM, I am wondering if the 2D engine could become officially supported in the next release of ScummVM. I have completed over 35 Wintermute 2D games, using the long-standing (ScummVM 2.0.0 and earli...

Re: help with scummvm gui fonts!
Check your Graphics Mode (Options -> Graphics Tab -> Graphics Mode).
I am guessing yours is set to something like 3X. Mine 'cleans up' like your ScummVM version 2.0.0 if I set the Graphics Mode to OpenGL.

I don't think you will have any joy with either of these games as the current ScummVM Wintermute engine is restricted to 2D adventures. Alpha Polaris is definitely a 2.5D game and I would expect that the latest JULIA game is no longer 2D (at least I couldn't get it to work). Although neither the Scu...

I see mention made in the scumm-devel link about the 1.10.0 release of a suggestion of including Wintermute and, in particular, the Carol Reed games. I have completed all CR games (from 04 East Side Story to 12 Profound Red) and another 19 Wintermute games (list available). I think these should be c...

ScummVM is ported to nearly everything. @Osprey, indeed ScummVM is ported to Linux - this was one of the reasons that supported my decision 2 years ago to remove Windows OS and install Linux (Mint) on all the family's computers. I do run the stable Linux ScummVM version (whenever it is released) bu...

Just to confirm I have got Osprey's patcher to work correctly on the uncompressed MUSIC.LIB file. I first ran a saved game from the opening scene using the unpatched (original) MUSIC.LIB file and the music lasted around 69 seconds. I then ran the patch to amend MUSIC.LIB. I played the same saved gam...

Game : The Shine of a Star I have got to the end of the game but I am not sure I would call it completable, because I started it with the latest Windows 64 development version and finished it with an older stable Linux version. I shall put in a bug report but the problems all come in the shovel puzz...

Back in July, I was able to complete Riven with a daily build. My save games from then still seem to work. So I suggest getting the latest daily build and giving it a go. I haven't tried it with the latest official (1.9.0) build. I doubt this will work because the game is definitely not officially s...

Re: Linux versus Windows
3. I have completed 12 Wintermute games on Windows including all 8 Carol Reed mysteries. But in Carol Reed 10 & 11 (but not the others), the savegames cannot be loaded from the Linux ScummVM menu (as they can in the ScummVM Windows version). Though they can be loaded in-game. That sounds odd, w...
