Can't believe I've been following this topic for the past 11 years.

If Death Gate ever gets implemented, I hope all versions (MCGA, VGA, MT-32 and GM) will be supported. See you all back in 2028.

SD Snatcher was released on MSX 2, not on PC-98.

Kudos for keeping it alive, because I have the feeling that Sony will sooner or later re-enable Linux support.

Seriously, shorter games like Limbo cost almost the same price. And for 20 bucks, you got the Machinarium OST with the game.

It's from the MT-32 but the instruments changes weren't carried over so all the instruments playing are the MT-32's horrible piano patch (worst patch on the whole module). How they didn't notice the difference is beyond me. You mean they forgot to honour program changes? I can't believe that :) As ...

It's not 100% accurate but it is 99.99% accurate. Woodtick (which sounds very nice on a real MT-32) sounds absolutely horrible in classic mode here. It's because the odd-sounding ones were not recorded from the MT-32. I don't know why they changed them, but they don't even sound like the PCjr or th...

One thing that didn't get mentioned was iMuse. How are they going to replace the dynamic MIDI tracks in Woodtick, the Voodoo swamp, etc? I suppose they'll go for a simple crossfade... or worse, static tracks, Amiga-style.

There are a couple of MIDI mappers for Vista out there. If you're using Vista MIDI Fix by Ben Ryves, he warns that his tool doesn't seem to work on a number of game engines (Doomsday, Chocolate Doom). I suspect ScummVM is one of them. Another popular tool is Vista MIDI Mapper . Copy the control pane...

Assuming by "PC english floppy", Kisdra means the PC EGA version, his answer might be found on the ScummVM compatibility page : "The Roland update from LucasArts is required for MIDI support in the EGA version." Note: MIDI support in Monkey Island is optimized for Roland MT-32 sy...

I have it on very good authority that, unfortunately, Larry 4 will never be supported by ScummVM because Al Lowe doesn't believe in "4-play".

Re: Amiga style scrolling for Lucas adventures

I'm too lazy to take the A500 out of its box, but honestly I don't remember Monkey 1 being smooth on the Miggy. I'm pretty sure it was 8-pixel limited as the PC version. I will boot it up when I get the opportunity.

On the other hand, I checked my Sega CD copy and the scrolling is definitely smooth.

You need to add the boot_param=x option to your game profile in the INI configuration file. Replace 'x' with the appropriate number. If memory serves me right:

0=standard
1=novice
2=expert
