Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?

Mystery Of The Druids As of now there is no way to play the original 2001 version on Windows versions released after Windows XP. The version you can buy on Steam and GOG is the "Director's Cut" released in 2004 but it has a lot of differences, most notably a completely different soundtrack...

Re: *UPDATES!* ESRGAN AI Upscaling (HiRes packs now possible!)

I'm working on SQ4 and SQ5 at the moment but it's slow going because I've got a bunch of other things to do. It's a meticulous process because some models don't work well with some backgrounds. So I'm doing a lot of pre and post-upscale pixel modifications to backgrounds and sprites to make sure th...

Re: *UPDATES!* ESRGAN AI Upscaling (HiRes packs now possible!)

So it's been like a almost a year, are there any completed Sierra High Res packs yet?

If there are any I'm not sure where to look for them. It's not like these games have Nexusmods or ModDB pages.

Re: First, let me say welcome to the Resistance, Captain.

Cool to see this supported in ScummVM. Does it have gamepad support? I think it would be neat to play this with an Xbox controller.

AppImage doesn't work on Raspberry Pi OS

Hi all, I'm trying to get the 2.2.0 AppImage to work on TwisterOS (basically Raspberry Pi OS with additional themes) but for some reason it just doesnt work. When I launch ScummVM via the start menu but nothing happens. Only the version from the Raspberry Pi OS package manager works but it's an anci...

Re: scummvm.ini in ScummVM root dir

How about checking if an ini file exists in the current directory and launching ScummVM with that config it it is found, while falling back to the current behavior if no ini file exists? ScummVM could start in a "portable" mode with an ini in the current directory automatically, where all...

Re: *UPDATES!* ESRGAN AI Upscaling (HiRes packs now possible!)

Since there are special editions of monkey island... the improvement is already done, just extract the backgrounds. Could it be implemented the monkey island support in scummvmx? Also there are already enhanced versions of full throttle, day off the tentacle... Thanks To be completely honest they d...

Re: ESRGAN: AI Neural Net Upscaling (For HiRes Packs?)

Jim Leonard upscaled Gabriel Knight 2 video from 308x167 playing back at 10fps, and uploaded to YouTube at 720p60 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HJndgXMKYY This was done back in 2018 so who knows whats possible now. That's not bad, I didn't even know this was doable back in 2018. With the tools w...

Re: Soundtrack Replacement in Sierra classics: Possible or no?

You could always use a large Soundfont like SGM-V2.01 or even bigger ones which is a huge improvement over Adlib or the standard Windows MIDI synth. I'm personally not too fond of the Woodcock enhanced soundtracks and I think a good soundfont can sound much better.

It's funny how picky one can get. Like, it's a shame the ESRGAN can't get rid of all of the compression artifacts.
You tell us, ScummVM dev.

Re: Blade Runner on Dreamcast

Thank you for checking that out. I thought The Curse of Monkey Island ran well at first but slowly starts having problem when the game progresses and starts to load extensively, especially regarding sound issues. Could you try to play it without sound to see if the game runs better? Hoping that wit...

Wow. This is fascinating. I never would have imagined that scrolling in an adventure game would be so difficult to implement...! I guess Gilbert and co had the better coding abilities? I bet the artist of that giant multiscreen artwork was disappointed. I would imagine it was also computationally i...

Re: ESRGAN: AI Neural Net Upscaling (For HiRes Packs?)

So, now that AI upscaling has come to the mainstream with NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 , and can run in real-time and enable incredible rendering... I think even if ScummVM doesn't do it, some open source project needs to figure it out. Would DLSS even work on 2D content? The way I understand it is they train a...
