Thoughts on the App Store (2)

Apple has changed the 3.3.2 section of EULA which was one of the biggest reason stopping ScummVM iPhone/iPad project to happen. It should now be able to get ScummVM app approved in the App Store. I hope the developers here reconsider and create an official version of ScummVM. New EULA section explai...

I got distracted by the swine flu so the Cydia upgrade took some extra time. Should be there now though.

You are installing the games in the wrong place. They should not be stored in the /var/ as they take space from the system. They must be stored in /var/mobile/.

I would like to add that it's possible to make it a lot easier to put games on the iphone. I would have added this to the wiki but I don't have an account there. Anyway to do it you need to install Airsharing (free or pro) or any other file sharing app for the iPhone. Once it is installed copy the g...

This thread made my head explode trying to keep track of all of the interpreter talk, heh. Has anyone played Staff of Kings? Is it any good? I was considering picking it up for the novelty of playing Fate of Atlantis with the Wiimote. The staff of kings is not very good. It's annoying as you have t...

I bought Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings for wii. And after unlocking Fate of Atlantis by completing one glory in staff of kings I tried it out. It's actually very cool. It's the english talkie CD version. The controls takes a while to get used to but after a while it works very good. The sound...

Case in point: http://toucharcade.com/2009/06/20/full-commodore-64-emulator-rejected-from-app-store/ A fully licensed C64 emulator just got rejected. And if it ever gets accepted? //Rob Don't hold your breath. Jailbreak ftw. Yes for now. But once Dev-Team releases the 3GS jailbreak Apple will most ...

I hope you are right. The only thing that would change that is that the AppStore apps seems to be so easy to crack. As it's a big revenue source for Apple I am sure they will do all they can to plug the hole. And possibly make it even harder to jailbreak. But I am speculating.

After all it's Apple so no surprise there. A lot of great apps will probably still require jailbreaking anyway because of the license so it's not really a problem. It could become a real problem when Apple closes down all loop holes in a future firmware update and there will be no jailbreak availab...

Well you could try to explain it like that but it would still anger a lot of people when they lose progress in a game.

Cydia doesn't have a source editor yet, but saurik added the ModMyiFone repository by default, and that's the one that listed ScummVM on Installer. Though I'm not sure whether Vinterstum has to build the .deb package or whether MMI will handle that. Regardless, it sounds like it can be listed fairl...

But I guess the biggest problem is with the save game state when you press the home button. Without that functionality there is 0 chance ScummVM will ever come to AppStore. Why is that exactly? Lets say you play Monkey Island 2. You just played for half an hour without saving and then suddenly some...
