Hi! Your informations are right. You'll need to compile some tools from residualvm-tools repository, in particular you'll need: patchex, unlab, mklab. I've written below a detailed list of steps: - Extract grim.tab from gfupd101.exe with patchex: 'patchex gfupd101.exe EN" - Decrypt it with with...

#1 Yes, you are right. Now for simplicity and to avoid strange bugs like this https://github.com/residualvm/residualvm/issues/566 we load only required labs and datausr.lab, if the user has selected the relative checkbox in the config panel. Anyway you could unpack and repack them in only one lab. #...

I agree with somaen about the need of a separate space for the Deluxe project from the ResidualVM forum, not only for a copyright reason, but also for the obvious technical advantages. PatchR needs both the original gamefiles (provided by the user) and a patchfile to transform them. The idea is to a...

I'm not an expert of copyright law, but I think that even if the models/textures/whatever are made from scratch, they are considered a derived work, like a cover song. But it's only my opinion. I have not explained well, PatchR in ResidualVM (not the homonym tool in ResidualVM-tool repository) does ...

About the copyright issues, you could use PatchR. It's used internally by ResidualVM to patch bugged lua scripts (see here ). It's like the ordinary diff/patch, but it even works with binary files. So, instead of providing the plain version of resources files, you could just distribute the relative ...
