Update works great for me, excellent job.

Nexus 7 - consistent 60FPS+

Praying for better controls. ;)

Edit: outside the funfair when talking to the clown, both Manny and the clown are not lit correctly. Very dark.

That would be great, all in good time. Perhaps later on you could consider 2 versions, or have some sort of config option for low/mid and high-end devices.

ASUS Nexus 7

33FPS more or less

Thanks for the work!

Any chance of rendering the 3D elements at a higher res? They seem quite low poly. Or maybe they could just use a bit of aa.

Adding x264-support is extra work, that doesn't really pay off for us at the moment, will MPEG2/Bink do fine for you guys? I guess mpeg2 would be okay, though it will result in much bigger video files than could be achieved with x264 at the same quality. With x264 we could get away with 1.5 - 2mbps...

The question is, what is the final format of the videos going to be (codec/container)? If residual contained support for h264 (x264) or similar modern codec that would be ideal. Either way, it would be good for me to be able to convert the .wavs to a format that's usable, even if just for preview pu...

Well, I would like to add the audio to the upsized videos. I'm not re-encoding back to the original format, so I'll need the audio tracks to be extracted in order to be re-dubbed into the new container.

So a usable .wav file would be preferred...

Okay, hold that thought. I'm going to pick the brains over at doom9.org to see if anyone can offer advice on improving the script. I agree that it looks over-sharpened in some areas - I just need to find a good solution to removing noise without losing too much detail; and enough sharpening without ...

Am still working on the scripts, there's room for improvement in the gradients etc.

I completely understand and respect your position on this. I suppose if I share the Avisynth scripts then no harm done. I would like to show you what the end result looks like... would sharing the (upscaled) intro video be frowned upon, considering it's widely available on the net as it is? I could ...

That's a good idea! I'll work on putting together a package. It's rather slow though... around 2-4FPS on my Q6600 at 3.6GHz.

Well I hadn't thought of that. :P

I guess it'll be for personal use then, if someone manages to enable the engine to use the upsized assets. Unless there's some other way around it. I don't want to run into issues.

Upscaling movies

Hi chaps I have been playing around with the movies in an attempt to upscale them to 1280x960. I'm using a combination of Avisynth filters to a) deblock and denoise b) anti-aliase edges c) reduce banding d) upscale e) sharpen f) double frame rate to 30FPS using frame interpolation So far, so good. I...
