You can speed up 4GB SD card access by formatting it with a larger block size. It defaults to 4k, I think, and can go up to 32k.

Very possibly NES--it was the first version I played and only one I had for many years.

It's driving me crazy that I can't find another reference to this, because I can't remember the exact process. Have you tried using different batteries? (From the flashlight?) Is there another power supply?

For what it's worth, this sounds a lot like the problem I was having with the previous release. I have a Treo 650 which is essentially the same hardware if I recall correctly... so the solution may be related.

Do you use UDMH to increase the available memory?

I'm having mixed results with the latest release, now, but it's working much better than before. Maniac, Monkey1, and Sam&Max all run fine, sound and all, but Loom and DOTT crash to launcher after importing databases. UDMH does not affect this behavior.

9-17-06 test on Treo 650--works great!

Chrilith, your work is great and your timing is impeccable. The latest test version works great on my Treo 650--I've tested Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island 1 so far, and I'm currently loading Sam & Max, Loom, and other talkies on for further testing. I'll ammend this post if I come up with anyt...

Treo 650. With UDMH my memory is as follows:

dynamic: 16519/18100
storage: 14814/24270
dbCache 5800k

Without UDMH it's 4707/5440 dynamic, and the others are the same. These figures are as reported by Resco Locker's /I info page.

Well, letmeknow if this one works: http://capers.free.fr/ScummVM/download/scumm.engine Ifso, you can thanks LordHoto :) I thank Hoto for the effort, but I'm still getting the same crash. It occurs whether I run ScummVM via PowerRun or directly from RAM. At the moment I'm waiting for my UDMH registr...

Nope, it's possible to get youself completely screwed in MM. If you really want to tear your hair out, try Zak McKraken and the Alien Mind-Benders--that one lets you mess up early in the game and find out only near the end that it's unwinnable! Those two were their first games and they were still wo...

Geez, I don't know. I could swear I've done it but it was years ago, and I'm having so much trouble finding it online that I'm starting to wonder if I imagined the whole thing. I think it has to do with the batteries... maybe put good batteries in the radio, turn it on, then fill the pool? You can k...

If you electrocute Jeff (I think that's his name--surfer dude?) in the pool, he'll say the code numbers. If that's no good for you, check out GameFAQs for all your walkthrough needs.

Still having this problem after installing UDMH, with 12-16 megs of dynamic memory. All my engine files are in the right place, etc. No ideas? I know some folks have this working on a 650, so I'm not sure what's wrong.

I suggest PowerRun because I didn't like the way ZLauncher handled SD card apps, kept losing my categories, and took up a lot of space. Not to mention the crashes in the file browser... PowerRun will work with any launcher, including the built-in one; it creates small shortcut-style .prc files that ...

You can free up memory by using something called PowerRun to run apps from your SD card instead of main memory.

Treo 650 problem: crashes after "importing databases&qu

I get a soft-reset after "importing databases" when I skip past the front-end. Using UDMH to increase the available memory does not seem to make a difference.

Current memory stats:
Free Dynamic 4755/5440
Storage: 15562/24270
MaxDynChunk: 4360
MaxStorChunk: 15562
DbCache: 6987
