Re: Police Quest I (On the F200)

Heya, Just today I was looking at ScummVM and some games I could play on it and saw AGI games can work on it. Anyway so I ckucked on my beloved Police Quest and got playing. A bit of adjusting to do with the predict text thing (hell couldn't you even put a small virtual keyboard on it?) but none th...

You even don't need adapters and such, just the Zelda TP game and a SD card. http://wiibrew.org/index.php?title=Twilight_Hack There are a few people in the Wii homebrew scene working on a Wii port of ScummVM (rather then the existing GC port). Things seem to be progressing well. I guess time will t...

I have moved this to the Nintendo DS forum. With any luck you can get some help there.

I use an older R4 with my old DS to do the odd bit of messing about with ScummVM and find the card solid enough. I have not had any issues with saves I am afraid :(.

There should be a port ready to go inline with the device release or just after the release. I still have a few things to work out and try it on real hardware but the basics are there.

Not sure on the time frame for real hardware mind you, that could be a little way off.

I don't own any Humongous games so have never tested them but there is no reason to expect them not to work.

The SCUMM engine is well supported and the only snag I can see is performance as the higher resolution games tend to place a heavy load on the little GP2X.

If a Joy Click its neccesary, you can not do this on a F200 since there are no way to emulate this "joy Click" :-( pressing 4 buttons at a time its just a fake legend. Agreed, there is no code in the F200's codebase that can generate a stick click (all the buttons are GPIO anyway). I gues...

Hmmm,

I don't have an F200 but I will have a look and see what I can do about this.

Hi Josh,

I have been close to the development of the Pandora for a long time.

I do hope to port over ScummVM if I can get hardware, not sure there will be a retail release of the console in the next 'month or so' however .

Vampyre,

Thanks for the feedback. Always good to hear from F200 owners.

Josh,

F200 support is reasonably good.

It is about as good as I can make it without actually having an F200 to test on. Screen clicks are not working (well not properly).

You should not find any major issues with any of the games you have listed.

Interesting, I have not done command line launching for some time but it should work. I'll have a look when I get a chance. No promises.

Hi Ale,

Silly question,

Did you save the GPE script with UNIX line endings?
If you end up with Windows line endings your stuffed  otherwise you should be fine.

Re: Using Timidity possible?

Since both use SDL, there sure is a relationship. And since the game itself doesn't have anything in common with point and click adventures, it sure is what is going on behind the scene which matters. And Timidity apparently works well with Doom on the GP2X. Also Doom is slightly more demanding on ...

I'm not sure I follow you. SDL did not have any connections to TiMidity last time I checked. (I think the SDL_mixer library contains a copy of TiMidity, but ScummVM doesn't use that.) eriktorbjorn, I think LogicDeLuxe is assuming there is a link because PrBoom (the Doom port they are talking about)...

Re: Using Timidity possible?

I didn't notice slowdowns in Doom, and with its 35 fps, it certainly is more demanding than those old LucasArts adventures with MIDI tracks, which only animate approximately about 10 fps. I thought ScummVM only included code to act as a client to a TiMidity server. Would make sense. If it's not the...
