like build a table which sample is spoken by which actor, then apply one set of filters to one speaker, and for example another set on Joey What would be the point in doing that on the fly? Joey still will and is supposed to sound the same throughout the game. On the fly effects would make sense if...

codecs like OGG and MP3 obviously cover the full 20Hz-20kHz range. They can do that, but they don't have to. With good encoders, you can preselect a band you want to be encoded, which apparently can save a lot on the bitrate. Getting rid of some less important frequencies is the whole point of loss...

From what I can recognize: 0: Monkey1, Zak, DOTT, SAM 1: ?, COMI, ?, FT 2: MM, Simon, ?, FT 3: MM, Goblins, ?, BS 4: Simon, ?, BASS, Queen Some of them seem to be scanned from the cover or a poster. And, yes, Zak is from an FM-Towns screenshot. About MM I'm pretty sure they are Jeff and Syd (with a ...

What if scummvm is on unwrittable media such as CD? In that particular case, it's probably not a newbie making the CD and would know how to use -c. At least, I always had a LNK, PIF, BAT or a CD autostart menu using -c on my CDs. A similar problem (actually it's not a problem either, just slightly ...

I never have to edit the preferences file on Mac OS X so why would a Windows user have to edit the scummvm.ini by hand? Inofficial patches for example. You need to add the target_md5 there. Also there are still some options missing in the GUI like the sample rate, for instance, you might want to ad...

How Do I check if it uses cd audio? You don't. Monkey 1 uses cd audio, Monkey 2 does not. You should follow the readme instructions on compressing the audio tracks, one of either 7.7.0, 7.7.1 or 7.7.2. If you need a ripping tool, I recommend this: http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/ It has good error pro...

I think, if someone asks for help in a ScummVM forum, he is about to actually use ScummVM . With the example of the car mechanics, anything else would be like asking the car mechanic to sell one some fresh fruit. Concerning the problem, it's very strange as in Monkey2 Adlib sfx are basically the sam...
