Just because gog mounts images doesn't mean that they don't prefer to shrink the games They're not very consistent with that. Some game are reduced to the files required to run it indeed (which might included a reduced cd images as well). But there are also many games with the original cd image int...

If square pixels were intended, why didn't they just use a 320x240 resolution? It is a valid VGA resolution (same timing as 480 lines), yet it was rarely used for some reason. Not even Deluxe Paint, which was used for making this game, has this resolution. It can do 640x480 in VESA mode, though.

Seems to work fine, using ScummVM 1.9.0.2 and the GOG version.

3) Use a boot parameter to warp to the relevant point... though these are intended for debugging and the game state might be a bit broken A bit? A lot actually. Most of the time, you're missing items you would need to progress beyond the puzzle the boot parm was meant to debug. Also all the variabl...

I think, the last time I really used those is far more than 8 years ago. In the early days, ScummVM didn't even have its own GUI, so it was the only way to save games.

There was. Ctrl 0-9 and Alt 0-9 did work in earlier versions of ScummVM, even when the game disabled the savegame menu. When was this changed?

AfaIk, the EGA was the original and the VGA version was the redesign. The Amiga and Sega CD versions are a hybrid of both, using the EGA sprites and a color reduced version of the VGA backgrounds.

Re: Settings questions

However, if I run the SoMI (PC VGA version) with EGA or Amiga options, it won't feel like I am playing the EGA or Amiga version (actually, no change at all). The Amiga option is for 16 color games only and will render them with a slightly different palette. Most notably with a brighter skin color. ...

Maybe, there should be a checkbox in the options menu as well, since this is not exactly an obvious setting.

This is cool. I never noticed this before! Maybe a check option to force the game to run as if it was running on a slower machine would be an interesting option to add to SCUMM VM? If you run the game in debug mode, there is a hotkey to change the detected speed. Changes apply when a new room is lo...

Re: Rookie MT-32 / SC-55 questions

I read somewhere that the CD version of some games does not use midi but recorded audio. Beside Monkey Island CD, the Loom CD and the FM-Towns versions of Zak and Indy 3 have CD audio only. I believe it was Indy. Indy 3 has PCjr and Adlib, so it doesn't support MT-32 or GS. Indy 4 has MT-32 in any ...

An interesting note: running the Amiga version of SoMI in ScummVM displays some features that were absent in the original Amiga run but were found in the PC version. Such features are the clouds over Melee island in the intro, and the pirates walking around the street of Melee. Apparently, the info...

I guess, Disney would be pleased to sell him a license.
The issues is: Ron doesn't want a license. Ron wants Disney to sell the IP back to him.

No, you completely misunderstand me. It's always 10 O'clock on Melee. That's not the bug. The bug is that Guybrush goes through his lines of dialogue about the clock without leaving the room he's in. It was introduced in the VGA version, it seems. It works as intended on the floppy and Amiga versio...
