Re: Infamous Bugs in Police Quest 3

The bugs ScummVM fixed in Police Quest 3 can be found in several places: Script Patches (most of the fixes): https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/blob/master/engines/sci/engine/script_patches.cpp Script workarounds: https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/blob/master/engines/sci/engine/workarounds.cpp Scat...

Re: Loom & Indy3 PC EGA, What's the difference between versions A, B & C?

I once spoke to the Israeli translator of the (official) Hebrew version of Loom. He told he was working on a Hebrew translation of The Secret of Monkey Island, but they eventually scrapped the project.

Re: We need to talk about Spiffy.

I love their answer! Thanks for reaching out to them :D

As for your question: I am all for adding it. Your restoration looks great and it certainly evokes nostalgic feelings for anyone who's familiar with the box art. Think of it as an Expanded Universe... :D

Re: We need to talk about Spiffy.

Very nice work aleksoctop! This is a cool project...
Have you considered contacting the Video Game History Foundation? Since they were able to obtain the game assets, it's possible they even have the original Spiffy image.

Yes but I think the only way to find that link was to read the page source, so it may have been more a matter of implementation than an intentional feature.
Possibly. Feel free to delete the link if you think it's piracy.

Re: The hitchhiker's guide

Wrt to "hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy" I can only find this link about it being playable online for free via the BBC site: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/1g84m0sXpnNCv84GpN2PLZG/the-game-30th-anniversary-edition I am unsure if this is the same as "released as freeware&q...

Re: Loom: EGA vs. VGA Script Differences

I wanted to make the file available for comments or suggestions before I go further but I'm not sure how to share it. Just hosting the file somewhere (an .ods spreadsheet) might be too inconvenient for others, but I'm not sure. What's wrong with Google Sheets? You can give "Commenter" acc...

Re: Loom: EGA vs. VGA Script Differences

If multiple messages in version A are mapped to a single message in version B, you can merge multiple cells in B's column and put the text there. For example, the cells B7 & B8 in your image are similar to D9. So you can group cells D7 & D8 and put the text ("I've never knowen them .. &...

Re: Issues and request from a teacher

I've created a few tickets and will create more but can't seem to find a way to submit a ticket for any of the "Living Book" titles or the "Magic Tales" They are not listed in the game selection drop down menu. I'm also not sure what engine the "Magic Tales" use. "...

See the link I posted above. All the text from both versions is there.

Re: Loom: EGA vs. VGA Script Differences

I have a spreadsheet with all the text from the various Loom versions here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pLnM107vl28W9FuNtYkwm2X-juURY5dKrGhsY0mVDMQ/edit?usp=sharing It's a sheet I used for migrating the Hebrew translation from the EGA version to the FM-TOWNS one (which are very similar)....

The Secrets of Monkey Island's Source Code

Very interesting article and video from last month talk with Ron Gilbert. They went over the source code of Monkey Island and some unused content:

Re: AGI Booter Support

Looking in the detection tables it seems that ScummVM supports the booters for Troll's Tale, Black Cauldron and Donald Duck's playground via IMG files.
