The images are stored in *.MHK archives (an archive type used by the Mohawk engine that is used by the Living Book games) splitted into files that contains the color palette and bitmap files that contains the info which pixel used which color number of a palette in a compressed format. So it's not l...

I tried the original english KQ7 CD v1.51 with the daily build 1.10.0git5210-g55947e8 (Oct 14 2017 05:42:40). That's the closest build to 1.10.0git5208 ... oct 14 2017 that is still available. It works without any problems (plays the intro without crash or error message). I suggest to try a more cur...

Reminds me of this problem: Link Ticket: Link In that case Sierra didn't replace the english maps for some audio resource files of the french version. But it doesn't matter since the affected audio files are unused by the game. Only ScummVM notices that the maps don't fit. Its not the same game but ...

Re: bugs?
1) I had to move the old avi files into the installed game folder because scummvm didn't find any. To me this sounds like you have installed the version 2.00b DosBox patch without altering options. In that case the RBT movies (used by the DOS version) are downloaded and the AVI movies (used by the ...

Ok - here are the source files I've modified: Link I only did a few changes: - changed predefined strings/values (english text to german text) - changed the way the gametime is displayed (AM/PM system to 24h system) while not changing gametime itself - changed the text position for the ingame comput...

@MrPunchy: The Bugs regarding cutscene video playback issues (wrong palette / wrong position or scaling factor) has been fixed. You should try your spanish v2.00 version again with the latest daily build. My cutscene patch (less compression artifacts) has been updated and now supports the followign ...

German VOYEUR version
A month ago I wanted to play the german version of this game again. There is only a german CD-I version and playing with emulators like CD-I Emu or MAME/MESS you run into issues like freezes or wrong colors. Since ScummVM supports the english DOS version of the game I thought maybe support of the CD...

It's a kind of hard to compare them because they have a very different concept. DOSBox emulates a complete operating system (DOS) and hardware typical for former systems running DOS. ScummVM on the other side doesn't do that. Instead a couple of engines have been rewritten in a way that they can run...

So far the cutscenes patch only works for the english and german AVI's using the CRAM codec. So it suports only the english Windows versions v1.51, v1.65 (maybe v1.4) and the german Windows version v1.65. The english Windows version v2.00b has AVI's using the cinepak codec. ScummVM handles these AVI...

Ok I created such a patch (Download) to patch the AVI's of the english or german Windows version to an improved version based on the mentioned 10 FPS RBT's.
I also edited my first post about the topic.

Yes, we did (as mentioned in our FAQ , but we should indeed maybe mention that on the downloads page as well). That would be helpful. I actually thought about copyright. But then I saw that the KQ7 cutscenes were already available from a reliable website (Sierra help pages are certainly not a warez...

any way to use the avi videos in KQVII instead of rbt? The framerate is better in the avi videos. I noticed some time ago that some CD's of the english Kings Quest VII Windows version v1.65c also have three unused RBT videos in the AVI folder. These are version 4 RBT movies compared to the version ...
