Re: Widescreen mod
Ah! Great news. You've done an excellent job so far.
I might be able to help out with a few, but work will have to let up first.

Re: The future of Grim Fandango Deluxe
I think we have to be realistic here. Yes, new higher resolution backgrounds would be great, but it would take years of constant work to produce them all -- especially to a standard most people were happy with. I really don't see any point in attempting something that has very little chance of being...

The future of Grim Fandango Deluxe
It seems DF are probably going to leave Grim Fandango Remastered in the state it's currently in -- bugs and all, and with that in mind, it would be good to discuss the future of this project, should there be one. Personally, I see Grim Fandango Remastered as the de facto standard version of Grim Fan...

Re: Widescreen mod
This is some incredible stuff! Wow! One thing I don't understand is why the sides of the images aren't being made to match the resolution of the original artwork? If they were done to the same specifications, they would surely match better? The exact same interpolation would be applied, after all. (...

Re: Changes in Grim Fandango Remastered
Yes, it's a tad annoying that the textures don't always align properly anymore. It's not TOO bad, but it's noticeable. BGBennyBoy was trying figure out how to enable the good_times key. As I understand it (and I may be misremembering) but there's a file that replaces the registry. If we could decode...

Re: Widescreen mod
This is great stuff!
I have to wonder, though. Doesn't ResidualVM still render the game at the original resolution? There's no up-ressing of Manny, for example.
Plus, there doesn't seem to be any reason to have higher resolution images on the side :-/

Cool. I'm just wondering how realistic is might be to re-render each of the 150+ rooms. Definitely a very cool thing that's been uncovered!

This is really quite special! How long does it take to create one background, though?

Re: Recreating the backgrounds
Here's a very rare, unused version of the room from the original game, offering some detail that you might not have seen before.

Re: Digging into the Grim Fandango Remastered files...
That sounds perfect. Even just something to convert dds into mcb would be a dream right now, but a tool that allowed me distribute changes without stepping on anyone's legal toes would be fantastic. If it could take command line input, I could write a simple batch file. GFRTexturePatch.exe texturena...
