Re: Digging into the Grim Fandango Remastered files...

It's just for dumping+viewing stuff but a texture repacker should be trivial for I or someone else to make. I've been holding off to see what state DF leaves Remastered, but I think it's getting close to final now. Maybe one more patch. I'm pretty sure an app to allow us to repack textures is going...

Re: GrimEdi - A tool for exploring/modifying Grim Fandango

I wonder if Remastered support might be added?

Re: Decode .key files

Hey, I pulled all the pertinent information from the original thread into the "HOW TO" threads I stickied -- good job on reading the whole thing, though! I'm not sure what format the .key files are in (FYEK?) but GrimEdi appears to be able to work with them. What were you planning to do wi...

Re: Widescreen mod

It may not be utterly perfect, but I still think it would look great. Plus this is something the could actually happen -- as opposed to extending the game, which seems hugely unlikely.

Also, come on: Plenty of great movies were filmed 1.85:1 :)

Re: Widescreen mod

Nicely done! It seems you went beyond 16:10/16:9 though? It looks almost like 2.35:1? Is it just my eyes?

Re: Widescreen mod

Why do we need to draw outside of the game's 4:3 area? I don't believe there's ever anything animated that goes past the edges of the screen. If we just keep it as decorative for now, as a better replacement for black bars, then why not do it? We could start with Manny's office as a test to see how ...

Re: Widescreen mod

When I made that video 4 years ago I was ready to start remastering ALL the backgrounds for widescreen if someone found the way to put them into game. Someone actually did say it was possible: to center the game window, detect which room you are in and then to display additional images on the side....

Re: Digging into the Grim Fandango Remastered files...

That's great news, but I had some weird issues extracting Grim Fandango's files...

Image

I tried to dump all from a file (commentary.lab) on drive M: to H: and I kept getting that error. Tried running as Admin. No luck :-/

Re: Digging into the Grim Fandango Remastered files...

If someone could decompile registry.sav then it's possible we could add "good_times" back in, then?

Changes in Grim Fandango Remastered

Has anyone spotted any changes in the new version of Grim Fandango? There's been some very strange things noted so far (and not mentioned anywhere by DoubleFine). Consider Olivia's "Grim Fandango" poem reading. Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrDqS7zSuo0 Remastered: https://www.y...
