Re: Cruise for a Corpse Music

Does anyone know how to get this awesome music on the PC version of Cruise for a Corpse? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A43gG_lmGBg Obviously that's the Amiga sound track, which isn't supported in ScummVM yet (and no one is working on that afaik), so there's no way to use it with the PC version :-)...

Cruise for a Corpse Music

Does anyone know how to get this awesome music on the PC version of Cruise for a Corpse? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A43gG_lmGBg I've recently become aware of such great things as the MT-32 and I was wondering if there was a way to improve the music in Cruise for a Corpse. (For those that don't k...

Wow, great job guys!

Let me know the bugs you've found and I might actually add them to my guide... one day. (I'm not great at updating it, but it is pretty comprehensive.

It does seem like this section of ScummVM could do with a bit of revamping... It's not obvious in the menus and it's not really all that obvious once you've read the manual :-/

Maybe we could combine our collective knowledge/ignorance into something useful to people?

I agree with you that the VSC sounds just fine in GS mode, so it is a good alternative to the S-YXG50 for Vista users. If you are running XP however, IMHO the Yamaha synth sounds even better plus it is faster and it is free. Bah. If only it worked in Vista :( Thanks for the clarification! But what ...

Lol, how ironic, I just did the same myself. The Roland VSC sounded far the best in my tests: To start, here's how the Monkey Island 2 is SUPPOSED to sound. This is a recording of a real MT-32: Real MT-32 : Example Here are recordings from many of the different options available to a modern MI2 play...

Darn, I can't seem to find any information on getting the S-YXG50 working on Vista. Other people have complained about the "no sound" problem but I haven't seen any solutions :(

Thanks for your help.

This entire thread is awesome! Thanks to everyone who has added to it. I don't know if this is already known here, but there is yet another (very simple) way to obtain a decent MIDI sound on Windows XP (it just works on XP though). Microsoft is giving away the faboulous Yamaha Softsnyth S-YXG50 with...

Also there is a Virtual Sound Canvas (expiring Demo available), which is a software version (unfortunately not for DOS games as they usually need an MPU401 port). It has the advantage that you don't need to build in any (old) hardware. Though the sound quality is notably worse than that of the hard...

Oh darn. I can't believe this project died. Isn't there a way to hack the Broken Sword code to allow better quality videos to make it easier to improve them??
