The WinCE backend probably hasn't implemented the language autodetection. You should be able to change it on the "Misc" tab of the Options dialog.

with the addition of the SCI0 - SCI1.1 support to v1.2.0 of scummvm, will any of the supported games work on the nds? i'm thinking of the EGA games mostly. perhaps these engines use a resolution the nds can not support?
