Caught that podcast too, and it got me digging into the game code. Surprisingly, no smoking gun on the manual's crew performance theory. Maybe it's one of those gaming myths or a subtle nuance we missed back in the day.

Nails that sweet spot between sharp and not too pixelated. The rounded corners add a nice touch, especially on a 16:9 screen. Reminds me of the good ol' Phillips Amiga days. Haven't tried them all, but I hear 'crt-hyllian' and 'sabrina' are worth a shot.

I had a similar prob with SCUMMVM before. What worked for me was tinkering with the settings a bit. Try checking the SCUMMVM forums or maybe their Discord for updates on game support.

I haven't tried Loom on Mac, but if it's anything like other games, getting rid of dithering might be tricky outside the SCI engine. Screenshots do look cool with undithering though. As for ScummVM, it's worth a shot for the B&W nostalgia. Can't guarantee the undithering, but reliving the old da...
