I hope it hasn't come across that I don't like other people contributing to this.. the more the merrier, all it will result in is more choice in tracks. It's no more my project than it is anyone else's so by all means if anyone wants to contribute please do so. :D If you do work on music for either ...

I agree, and I'm sorry if any of my posts have come across as accusational or egotistical, that's not what I intended. Looking forward to doing some work on this later in the week, will post something when I have something to post. Edit: oh and also, what do people think about my thoughts on the juk...

No, not really.. as I said my computer finally died on me so I've spent a while setting up a new one. I will get back on track with this stuff soon though, I'm working for the next couple of days but after that I have a fair amount of free time. If you haven't heard it already, though this is the mp...

Whether or not the midi sounds fine depends on how fussy you want to be I guess :P It still sounds very midi to my ears, and the idea with this project for me was always to avoid the midi sound entirely. I'll make that intro track the next thing I work on so we can compare. I'm aiming for a clearer ...

Hey guys, sorry I've been inactive for a while, my PC completely died on me so I've spent the last week putting together and setting up an entirely new system. About your track kaysow, I'm all for more people contributing to this so by all means go nuts if you want :) I do think the one you posted s...

BASS: remake of the musical score
I'd previously posted in the Audio restoration thread. This is where I'll post updates about my progress, and mp3s for you all to critique and hopefully enjoy. I don't have anything to show RIGHT now (though there is a quickly thrown together sample in the other thread) since there have been a few p...

I think the ring modulator is on the right track, but the effect needs a lot of tweaking. I gave a few different things a try, playing around with vocoders and synthesisers, and while the results were kind of cool and could work in the context, they didn't sound enough like the original. I don't hav...

I'll let everyone know how I'm progressing from time to time and post tracks when I've finished them. I'd suggest you to start a separate thread for this, since this one is primarily aimed to voices restoration from DAT tapes. Of course, these two are closely related, but I feel that you will want ...

Thanks! That's extremely helpful. Sorry I didn't realise it was you when you PM'd me, I'm not yet familiar with names around here :P I'm starting work on a couple of tracks today, I'll let everyone know how I'm progressing from time to time and post tracks when I've finished them. I'm not sure how f...

That site seems to be down.. The problem with most midis of the game is that they are fine for listening, but the notes aren't actually in time with midi's bpm, which means there's a fair bit of extra work before they're usable starting points (still good to have though). Benni has manually correcte...

That's not too much of a problem with the midi.. I can set something up to re-route and capture the midi data while the game is running, the only downside is that it won't be in sync with the track's bpm (even if I know what the tempo is it'll drift out), so I'll need to re-record\program the parts ...

Thanks for the positive feedback. :D A couple of months is a pretty reasonable amount of time to get the soundtrack re-made in, so I'll loosely say it'll take me that long. Obviously I have to balance working on it with a lot of other things, but most of the BASS tracks are fairly short loops like t...

I threw this together today to give you an idea of how some of the re-made tracks might turn out: http://www.logic.turntablism.info/mp3/bass1.mp3 Keep in mind I haven't spent much time on it, and I'm also often able to make use of live instruments (such as violin and vocals) so that will definitely ...
