It worked! Thanks a lot.
I'm not sure I even understand what the puzzle was supposed to be, or how you were supposed to figure it out without walking straight into an unwinnable state. Did Roberta Williams intern at Westwood at some point?

Here you go. I can't seem to get out of that corridor.
Thanks a lot for looking into this!

Lands of Lore: Getting out of unwinnable state?
It seems there's a puzzle in the Urbish mines which, when solved incorrectly, leaves you stuck in an area with no way out. Despite playing the game a few times in the past, and encountering this puzzle before, I forgot about it and saved in what seems to be an unwinnable state. The autosave also kic...

Re: Dart game at Holmes Scalpel game
Maybe I'm misremembering, but isn't there also a way to get the information you need without having to play darts for it? Yes, in Scalpel the darts game gets you an address that (1) can be obtained in another way and (2) is just a dead end anyway. (In Rose Tattoo, however, you have to win at darts ...

Re: Loom - the looping music tracks in the FM Towns version
If you have the music tracks ripped as mp3/ogg/whatever, you could probably just open them in the audio editor of your choice and add 5 minutes of silence at the end of each. I don't think ScummVM checks that they are the correct length. (You could also tweak the volume while you're at it if that's ...

Re: Cursor Stuttering on Windows 10
There was a Windows update a couple of months ago that caused massive stuttering in games. The problem has since been fixed, so you might want to check your Windows is fully up-to-date.

Re: Another sci-fi adventure joins ScummVM
I'm happy to report that the game is completable with the latest daily build. There are still a few glitches here and there ( which I've reported ), but it's generally looking good! Hopefully ScummVM support will convince GOG (or whoever) to start selling the game so that more people have a chance t...

Re: Discworld 1 Best Version
I don't think it is a "complete misnomer", since a lot of the early supported games for ScummVM did not feature speech audio, in which case "text speed" actually controls the speed of subtitles. It does control the speed of the subtitles, but it's wired backwards. When you incre...

Re: Discworld 1 Best Version
Dialogues, for instance, are very slow. When a character ends his line, there's a few more seconds break before the new line appears. I tried to raise the option for "Text Speed", but it doesn't change anything. Anyone knows if there's a fix? The "text speed" option in ScummVM i...

Can't you just empty the bottle by clicking it on Zanthia (to drink it) or on the cauldron (and then flush the cauldron)? I'm pretty sure the game doesn't have dead-ends.

Re: A Stealthy ScummVM Operation
Well, I gave it a try, and I can report that the game (or at least the French EGA DOS version I played) is completable without major problems. (I did use the console cheat for The Rats™, because life's too short.) I filed a couple of bug reports for minor problems. Obviously, the biggest problem is ...

The sword icon is the main cursor in QfG2. To leave the table, type "stand", "stand up", "get up", or something similar.

Re: Infrastructure updates
Should the forums display a favicon? They seem to have stopped doing that since the update. On an unrelated note, is there a chance someone could clean up the announcements and pinned topics in General Discussion? You currently have to scroll through 15 (!) of those, many of which haven't seen any a...
