Try starting it from a DOS prompt and check if it gives any output. --- Quick tutorial: Start->Run, then type "cmd" and press return type "cd \path\to\your\scummvm\directory" (replace with your path) and press return (for example if you have ScummVM in C:\Programme\ScummVM you sh...

ScummVM could support a perfect aspect ratio correction with a 5x/6x scaler which scales up to 1600x1200 (for really high-res LCDs or 19'' CRTs): a 320x200 game scaled x5 in x-direction and x6 in y-direction gives 1600x1200, without any scaling artifacts. I'm thinking about getting such an LCD so su...

I have the same problem with an integrated Intel Chipset (915), seems to be driver-related (DirectX) As a workaround, try setting the environment variable SDL_VIDEODRIVER to 'windib' to disable DirectX acceleration for SDL. Or create a file named "scumm.bat" (or whatever) in your ScummVM d...

It's probably not legal to redistribute the FM-TOWNS demo files.

On what system are you running ScummVM? It might be that your version of ScummVM wasn't compiled with MP3 support for one reason or another. But OGG and/or FLAC files should work, so you might try to convert your audio tracks into one of these formats.

Some hints, and how I transfer files from my A500 to the PC: CrossDOS: This is a software tool for the Amiga which can format a floppy disk in DOS mode (720k on a standard Amiga disk drive, 1.44M on a HD disk drive) and then lets you copy stuff from the Amiga onto it. It is a bit awkward to do this ...

This sounds like a nice-to-have feature in general:

Even if the game version uses speech, if the monster.sou file (or some compressed version thereof) is not found, the game should just run without sound/speech.
Can't be that hard to implement ;)

Please report why "some FMTowns Games [won't] start with v0.8.0".

Reporting them might get the bugs fixed.
The version you're using is unlikely to ever get fixed.

From your report it might be that the INI file has wrong line endings which ScummVM doesn't like

Re: HELP WITH SCUMMVM

...i downloaded indiana jones and the fate of atlantis... Sorry, pirated/illegal versions are not supported. However, if you get an original copy from ebay or something, ScummVM should not interfere with anything on your system. You don't even need to install it, just unpack the zipfile somewhere, ...

Did you install the game, or simply copy all the files from CD to a directory on your HD? Installing is not neccessary.

Which files do you have in the game directory?

Maybe you can try renaming them to make sure they're all in lower case, that might also help.

I don't get why people get so emotionally attached when it comes to version numbers (for example, if you followed the MAME boards recently, you know what I mean ;)) It's just a number, no more and no less. It serves only one purpose, telling you which version is earlier (=older) and which one is new...

ScummVM uses your Windows sound drivers to produce sound. So you should check if you have properly installed Wave and MIDI drivers in Windows (try playing a WAV file and a MID file in Media Player). If only WAV playback works you might want to enable the MT-32 sound driver in the ScummVM options men...
