General Midi Settings Update
Just a little update for you, the settings I posed in the last post work fine, and will map the general midi thru your sound card or sound device if it has support, without generating a constant stream of control error messages. There is another option I have working if your sound card will not supp...

Hi all, I have sorted the problem. It seems that when I installed the scummvm emulator, I did not set the general midi default options, so the emulator was using what appeares to be the Windows Default MIDI device, which is software emulated. If anybody else is suffering similar ad-lib warnings, ple...

Re: Tinsel engine adlib warnings
I think that's because the music is in a format I've heard referred to as either XMIDI or XMI, which is an extended form of MIDI. When ScummVM tries to play that, there are probably a lot of control change messages that the AdLib player simply ignores.
Thanks...

Tinsel engine adlib warnings
Hi Apologies if this is posted elsewhere, I can't seem to find a specific post with this problem. If there is one please put a link in the reply :) I am having a small problem When playing Discworld I. There seems to be a constant adlib warning scrolling in the scummvm status window: warning: AdLib:...

pda probs, is anybody monitoring the wince thread at the mo
Hi
I got a question over in the WinCE thread, don't know if anybody is actively monitoring at the mo?
Just wondering...

ipaq hx4700 memory problems
Hey guys I know this is a very unsupported platform now but I recently acquired an hx4700, flashed to wm5. I have successfully got the Win CE port to work in it running from a 2Gb SD card. (scummvm engine files are on the card itself, not on the pocket pc, so I should have all of the base memory fre...

Something seems to have eaten my last message, or maybe it never got posted at all, but according to the README it will keep using scummvm.ini in the Windows folder, if there already is one there. It seems a bit far-fetched, but could that be the cause of the problem here? ah... on my system the sc...

Thx. I only seem to get stuck channels (or conflicting channels) on the Sloth Island levels for some reason. Usually a really high-pitched note which is continuous. Incidentally I updated my audio drivers and the huge speech delays are now reduced to lengthy delays. All of the delays in the location...

fotaq sound problems
Hi guys I just loaded up the free version of fotaq from the scummvm download page (version 1.1) I installed the latest stable release of scummvm (april 2010) to run it on but I am still having a few sound issues. First I keep getting stuck midi channels, is this normal or should I be looking at driv...

My apologies, I did not word my comments very well. You are quite correct, Discworld 1 and 2 do not have copy protection and do indeed have a simple cd check. I stand corrected on that one  I seem to have one of the rare copies of Discworld Noir with a Safedisc protection on it which is why I ...

Just my two-penneth worth here... Just joined and going through a few posts... I am running a Pentium 4 Hyperthread 3GHz with an nvidia 7300 gfx card. I run Windows XP Pro as the o/s. With Discworld 1 and 2 I don't bother installing. I drag all of the files over from the _original_ cd into a directo...
