The extractpak program will not open for me. I extract the files, but when I try to open the application it just closes immediately. I am running Windows 10. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! The extractpak is only supposed to extract the contents of the pak resource file, correct? Then you ca...

New scummvm installation cannot find saved games of GOG game
Hi, I've recently installed LOOM (GOG, Talkie version) which runs with ScummVM support. But it uses an old ScummVM version, which has a glitch with mouse control in up-to-date Windows 10 PCs -- my laptop is affected by that. GOG uses a portable setup of ScummVM as far as I can tell, which it puts in...

^^^ You can start the game, but the scummvm engine for it is not yet complete. I believe you also need to have everything on the hard disk too. There's a method mentioned in the pcgamingwiki that will do that for you. Actually, the installer and the workarounds mentioned in the pcgamingwiki page for...

I wish I could be of help. I have been looking in the game files (and a few decompiled dlls) as part of a comprehensive subtitled playthrough of the game that I'm working on. One of the main tasks I'm doing is labeling/renaming each (extracted) speech audio file to indicate who says it, when they sa...

Many thanks Anotherguest! I can confirm it works on Symbian^3 Belle at least for LOOM EGA that I've tried. It worked on Symbian Anna too. My phone is a C6-01. Only issue I had, was that after installing Belle (yesterday) and reinstalling the full sis, the screen orientation was detected wrong always...

I am using a Nokia C6-01 and have tried LOOM with the latest svn version scummvm-110131-SymbianS60v3_all.sis . So far so good. I think it works rather well. Sometimes the popup keyboard does not respond (especially when I try to minimize or hide it) and I don't think it's possible to double click on...

I wouldn't know about the slashdot hits, but as one of their customers, I certainly am very displeased. Displeased because they shut down the site without any warning, in the middle of a weekend sale no less. And because it's possibly just a marketing stunt. That is I'm very displeased either way. A...

and you can't skip dialogue at all in MI:SE. Which is downright annoying. ScummVM could easily rectify this problem. Certain dialogues can be skipped with [backspace], but this does not seem to work always. The other way, is to switch over to the classic version [F10] and then skip every line with ...

I saw that, but I thought it was a fan site, not an official Steam site. (In which case they might not have the right to distribute that version, but I don't know...) Yes, that is an interesting but also a somewhat suspicious offer. Is that site officially affiliated with Steam, do they have the ri...

Shame they couldn't include FM-Towns Loom in the mix. PC-CD Loom just seems rather, well, hollow to me. Probably because literally all the audio is mixed in together and cranked out at setpoints amongst what is otherwise deathly silence. Having a background soundtrack would've worked pretty well. I...

I really liked Justin's work on the MI2SP POC, I guess it's just personal preference. I agree on this too. To me, he sounded very in-character and convincing. I also like the idea of beginning with Monkey Island 1. It has almost a quarter the amount of dialogues as compared to MI2 and is significan...

Re: Secret of the Monkey Island VGA/DOS translation
Yes. Apparently it does. Could you provide any more details on this, or perhaps reference some discussion of this bug?Butz wrote: This old and well known tool also has an old and well known bug in working with SOMI VGA FLOPPY.
