The only thing this discussion should be about it reimplementing the ability to being able to support the old AGS games, there is no need to talk about creating a new game-engine as that's not the purpose of SCUMMVM (there are enough game-engines in SCUMMVM which you already can use to create new ga...

I just ran into the same problem.. Why not publish 2 versions to the market then, one with all the plugins, and the one without all the plugins.. OR make it an option in scummvm itself I'm using a xoom and it just takes too much time to download all the plugins, not to mention all the 'uninstall' in...

Well, maybe I'm a bit blunt now, but who cares if AGS is still under development, it's the current games that are out there that are important, not future games. Up till the current build of AGS there are so many games out, even AGS itself isn't capable of just running those old games on the newer e...

Has there been any interest shown in the OpenSDK (PSL1GHT) kit being developed for the PS3? https://github.com/ps3dev Could this possibly be used in the future to create a PS3 ScummVM for everyone, even those without OtherOS compatible systems? Sadly no, unless you are using a Custom Firmware.. the...

They are going to release the microscope puzzle as a separate app with a new option for selecting difficulty levels: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_7th_Guest:_Infection Just as I said, Making a fast buck..... because I doubt they will release this for free if you already own the 7th Guest game..

Well, that's not gonna happen, as in most countries that would be illegal.. all they can try is to ban the console, but even that can be a problem because with a CFW it is possible to spoof PS3ID info with someonelses PS3IDs..

What? I didn't implement the videos. I implemented the sound part. There's a lot left to do, including palette changes. And it segfaults a lot. Not to mention that the entire space shooter is partially hardcoded and none of the IACT chunks of the videos are handled. I was merely having fun with the...

Seeing as Clone2727 has implemented the video's, and since it is '2d' based I couldn't see a reason not to implement it into ScummVM, ofcourse is a developer is willing to spend time on it. It was and still is a fun game..

Furthermore I read the court document submitted by Sony lawyers and they don't seem to know what they are talking about. They claim that Geohot's jailbroken 3.55 firmware allows ps3 game backups to be ran but it doesnt, it only allows signed homebrew. Well, you'll need geohot's 3.55 firmware becaus...

Now, geohot has releases his easy CFW AND signing tools.. So 'all' the wait now is for Scummvm PS3 port running completely on PS3 Light SDK.
I'm now even backuping up my PS3 just to update to 3.55 (and thereby leaving OtherOS for what it was, even though I'm still a bit hesitant).

They did say in the fail0verflow conference that it only took them a few months to find the keys. They haven't been working on it since PS3 release, they only started on it after Sony removed OtherOS from phat and lied about it not working on the Slim. People have been working on it since the PS3 w...

You can install CFW straight off a USB stick, and you'll need it to run any emulators or homebrew as the PS3 won't run anything without installing it first, and you can't do that without CFW. Having it signed or not doesn't matter if you can't install it in the first place! I wonder why it can't ru...

If all goes to plan you won't even need to jailbreak your PS3, the devs here will release a ScummVM PS3 port unsigned (or signed, however they feel about it) then the scene will just sign it and re-distribute it (or you can sign it yourself if your in the know). Once its signed any PS3 jailbroken o...

Hopefully along with the open source SDK this is good news for a PS3 port of ScummVM! Only one problem, yes with an opensource SDK it is possible to get an official PS3 port of ScummVM, BUT officially it can only run on a 'jailbroken' PS3 (or one that doesn't require signing of the package), becaus...

Microscope puzzle would involve porting the AI over, but I can't see any 'technical' issue that would have prevented the piano puzzle - perhaps it was culled to stop the frustration  I cannot see any reasons why porting the AI over would be any problems, 7th guest ran on much much lower hardw...
