Re: Gabriel Knight 1 - combine DOS and Windows versions?
EDIT: Hmm. According to Mobygames then, the CD version I have is the US release, which contains both the DOS and Windows versions. And yet when last I looked, I couldn't see any DOS installers, I don't think. I couldn't get anything to load under DOS and it said it was Windows only. My "Sierra...

Re: Gabriel Knight 1 - combine DOS and Windows versions?
But can different versions be combined? So you can play the DOS version with VGA graphics, have voices, and the Windows cinematics? If that can be done in ScummVM does anyone know if that's possible in a native Windows/DOS environment? Both the Windows and DOS CD versions should have voices. I gues...

Re: A suggestion for SCUMMVM (Dreamweb)
I was wondering whether it would be possible to take the uncensored David Crane scene from the floppy disk version of Dreamweb and implement it into the censored CD version. It kinda sucks that the best scene in the game has been butchered (and in doing so, made non-sensible) in an otherwise defini...

Re: Disabling Subtites in KQ VII
Hi, I would care to disable the subtitles in King's Quest VII, but I can't find a way to do so within the latest stable release of ScummVM. Selecting voice only under the audio tab of the game's options does nothing and I've even tried creating a custom batch file to launch the game, yet the subtit...

Re: Can you bring peace to.. UNREST?
Looks like there was a last-minute regression that prevents the game from starting. See https://bugs.scummvm.org/ticket/15421 for details.

Re: Can one disable virtual phone style keyboard popup in PC versions?
For me it was already unmapped (I tested with King's Quest III). The keyboard popup still comes up when you click (left mouse click) on the text command line below the game screen. Ah, I didn't realize that. I turned off mouse support for the AGI games after it caused me to fall off a cliff, if mem...

Re: Can one disable virtual phone style keyboard popup in PC versions?
This is the predictive input keyboard dialog that is used by AGI engine games. There's info about this on the ScummVM wiki here: https://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php?title=AGI/Predictive_Dialog I don't see an existing way to disable it (as a user). You could open a feature request about this on the S...

Re: Games with Hotspot Display
Simon the Sorcerer 1 and 2 show hotspots briefly if you press F10. If I remember correctly this was originally just in the second game, but ScummVM adds it to the first game as well. (I just noticed that it doesn't pick a good color for the CD32 version of Simon the Sorcerer 1, so that will have to ...

Re: Disabling text-to-speech
I think that may refer to the original text-to-speech feature the game apparently came with? I think ScummVM only uses the operating system's text-to-speech library. (I never build ScummVM with that myself, so I don't know much about it.)

Re: DIY on Clear Speed of Text Boxes Before Death Screens in SQ3?
Assuming the pattern to look for in sluicebox's decompiled scripts is: (cls) (EgoDead ...) (I believe that means it clears the message box itself, rather than waiting for the player to dismiss it. Of course, the actual time-out is set up elsewhere.) Then it's (at least) the following deaths: "Y...

Re: King's Quest SCI crashes
It seems to only happen if the "Use RGB rendering" setting isn't enabled. (Just in case anyone else wasn't able to reproduce the error at first.)

Re: Leisure Suit Larry 1: In the Land of the Lounge Lizards VGA talkie
But even if the dialogues are different, maybe there is the same number of them, e.g. their names can be done that VGA has the number 001 and we also give the name of the 001 files from the new one Even in the parts of the playthrough that I looked at there appeared to be additional content, e.g. L...

Re: Leisure Suit Larry 1: In the Land of the Lounge Lizards VGA talkie
Is it possible to Leisure Suit Larry 1: In the Land of the Lounge Lizards VGA add voices from Larry Reloaded (remake of Larry 1) this same was with Monke Island 1 and SE. They add voices from SE to classic VGA version. I haven't played Reloaded (it seems the Linux version is no longer available, si...

Re: Gabriel Knight in Powkiddy MiyooCFW
I have no idea about the Powkiddy, but whether SCI32 is enabled or not is a compile-time option, so if it says it's not compiled in then there is no way that particular build of ScummVM will run those games. As far as I can tell, it has been enabled by default since ScummVM 2.0.0, so if you have tha...
