The problem with that is that most of the people from the golden age of LucasArts have left the company. For a good reason, I presume. LucasArts really isn't half the company it used to be. I'm sure it was hard for the really creative people there (who brought us the classics) to see the company re...

Yep, I did that, too. I know the ScummVM project was (is still(?)) some problem for LucasArts. But instead of beeing grateful that their old games can be played on newer Systems, they wanted to kill off the Project  ! You should think they might consider packing all of their 12 SCUMM-games i...

All that means that to eachieve this feature request we will have to collect significantly more MD5s, particularly for every game data file. As I have it on the best of authority (the original lead developer) that Kyrandia 1 (English) has different dialogue between revisions at a particular point i...

In fact, I have it on good authority that there's a fair bit of code (probably graphics and sfx/music code at the very least, but that's just a guess) that is common to Kyrandia, Lands of Lore and Dune II. However, the latter two are definitely out of ScummVM's scope. But if someone did decide to ma...

The game seems to run very slowly - not just Brandon's walk but the entire game including all animation and dialogue. I've not had this problem with any other game in ScummVM on my machine (1.5GHz P4) so I'm guessing it's a Kyra-specific problem? On a side note, Mike (one of the original developers)...

As far as gameplay goes, I thought the game was rather fun, up to the point where you have to walk around 5 minutes to get somewhere. The graphics/rendering could be updated with modern technology. Take a look at new renderers for quake like Tenebrae: Same game, better graphics. It all has to do wi...

1)i ask, i do not force nor demand See the ScummVM FAQ question 1.5 . 3)if scummvm wasnt made to please other ppl what is it's actual purpose huh? To play 2D point-and-click adventures that the developers have an interest in playing themselves, on a wide variety of platforms. If users from all over...

Re: since noth can't be supported here are others
Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive: The good ol' classic game, no 3d engine, in complete 2d.. however i think we'll have a problem with it, since desperados 2 is coming out in 2006 and it will be still under copyright.. i presume there will be a problem with getting source code... Not a point-and-kli...

I could be wrong, but as far as I've been able to tell, the main purpose of ScummVM is to make games playable under Linux and *BSD. This means that a game is within the scope of ScummVM if ALL the following prerequisites are fulfilled: The game is not playable under Wine or similar projects The sour...

Yes, there are many platforms a developer might choose to develop for. However, when you develop for multiple platforms, you also have to support them, test them etc. and this results in great costs. That's not always the case, especially if the developers focus on one platform, the binaries for wh...
