I know, but loomtowns use a very bad synthesized music at least for me (I liked more the original ADLIB music), and loomCD is awful, they took away half of the game and the music is also synthesized. And replacing loomtowns tracks with orchestral ones doesn't work, as they need to have the correct ...

it's not just looping, afaik iMUSE allows to turn single instruments on/off you'd basically need to rewrite the whole music engine plus the sounds to make it sound better MOD-type files allows that. The Amiga versions of the iMUSE-enabled games are unlikely to use MIDI files as the Amiga didn't hav...

Eric Chahi has allowed distribution of Another World and Flashback with some ports of Reminiscence and Raw for Dreamcast, Gamepark GP32 and Game Boy Advance (the dreamcast and gp32 aren't a re-release but the interpreter glued to the datafiles, I can't speak of the GBA version because I've not seen...

Here's the link on Out of this World: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Chahi Furthermore, it appears the guy who freewared the GB version of Out of this World (Eric Chahi) also worked on Future Wars. Perhaps he has the copyright currently? According to this page , Eric Chahi indeed owns the copyri...

Cine: new engine in SVN builds!?

In a completely unexpected turn of events, it appears that the cinE engine that aims to run classics Future Wars and Operation Stealth is being integrated into the ScummVM project. I've heard nothing about this even being in the works, so seeing it on the wiki was a nice surprise. Go check it out at...

It would seem that the brains behind the game are now working at a UK company called 2DTV. One of them might have clues on who owns the copyrights now or at least who bought them when Divide By Zero went out of business.

I think Activision currently holds the Star Trek computer game license, so they might have a say.

As far as I can see Interplay may not exist as a company anymore, and nor might Titus, so the matter of who owns the copyright on these particular games now is anyone's guess.

Actually, there is no such thing like a "MT-32 compatible" sound card which is not built by Roland itself. It's a myth , made up by the competeting companies. What they really mean when they print "MT-32 compatible" on their boxes is merely that they have a wavetable with can re...

My preffered method of getting MT-32 sounds involves a Soundblaster AWE32 PnP (an old ISA card, but it's PnP) and the MT-32 sound bank that comes with it (only available on the original CD-ROM, not on Creative's support site). Works wonders if you can't get your hands on a real MT-32, and it doesn't...

I have yet to see a superhero-themed point and click adventure, besides maybe "Adventures of Fatman" and "Superhero League of Hoboken" (which are both, you guessed it, parodies). Given the puzzle-based nature of adventures though, I can certainly see good potential for adventures...

I think that LucasArts might have something left to surprise us with. Then again, they may have gone the way of Origin under EA where it's a good thing they're not making anymore original games or continuations of their famous series. I hope you're right about LEC having something up their sleeves....

In this day and age, do you really think LucasArts would sell anything other than Star Wars? Just wait a couple of years and see them flood the market with crappy halfhearted attempts at Indiana Jones action games. No joke. Wish that it was. :( In fact, the planned Indiana Jones movie (which will l...

Maybe it's because they think about making Adventures again, and sold licenses makes it impossible for them to resurrect the series!? I doubt it; with their current lineup of starwars games they have characters and the background story - juts plug that into some cheap 3D engine and you got your nex...

If you'd like to get ScummVM to support the games, there's things you can do even if you're not a programmer. Chief amongst them would be to track down who holds the current rights to the game, and contact them to see whether they'd be willing to make the games freeware and/or release the source co...
