Ubuntu 64-bit: Can't compile patchex

Hiya! I have ResidualVM up and running, and Grim Fandango seems to be running fine from the 5 minutes of it that I played. However, I haven't been able to install the patch (which from what I understand, is needed to be able to finish the game), because patchex doesn't want to compile. I was able to...

Very late - been on holiday - but yes, as anotherguest says that's all there is to it. Glad that the joy in your heart is loud!

Quit Mini-Games in Sam & Max?

Apologies if this is answered elsewhere - I've searched and found nothing.

Can anyone offer me advice of how to quit the Sam & Max Hit The Road mini-games before they finish naturally? I've tried assigning keys, with no luck.

Thanks in advance...

I'm getting problems with the 2008-04-02 0.12.0 - I've five games which run well on 0.11.1, 0.11.0 and the previous 0.12.0. DOTT, Maniac Mansion and Sam & Max all crash immediately, returning to standby. However, MI1 and MI2 start. I haven't got as far as testing the gameplay. Reinstalling 0.11....

The green key/volume control system's in 0.11.1. I'm going to test it a bit longer...

What are the changes in the new SVN?

I'll try 0.11.1 first, then the new SVN, and report back.

Thanks!

By the way (because I've not installed yet), are the green key/volume control features in 0.11.1?

I'm noticing odd crashes in DOTT and Sam & Max. MI1 seems OK, but I can't be absolutely sure. I get a few minutes of gameplay, then a simple exit to standby. In some cases before the program quits, I notice that the characters will move to where I point, as if there are false (left-)clicks occur...

One odd issue on upgrading from 0.10.0 was that my (default) savegame path was lost - easy to fix though, obviously.

On a positive, the key mapping seems to work where it didn't before. Thanks!

Apologies for not posting sooner - I had to wait for the public transport test! Thanks so much for building the volume control into the new SDL - now all the games are clearly audible when using the headset in noisy public environments. The 6120 Classic headset is pretty quiet overall, (although its...

To reply to myself...

I managed to test the volume level on another 6120, and it's the same as my handset. So that's definitely a vote for a volume tweak, if that's not being too cheeky!

Thanks again,
OAZ

Cool, great service! The levels are fine in a quiet environment (home, for instance), but as the headset isn't shielded or noise-cancelling, using it in public - on a train for instance - means that the dialogue in ScummVM games is barely audible. All in all, if the only complaint about the 61...

Thanks for the reply (and for the port, again). I noticed that the queries on this forum about the volume being too loud easily outnumber the "too quiet" camp. I've got the volume up as loud as it goes in all the available settings. ScummVM plays at a volume noticeably quieter than the pho...
