I can't say I'm not waiting for the oft-promised PC version of Mercenaries 2 (as I am, and so should you), it's just that the last in-house-developed game published by LucasArts was -- when exactly? They live off those royalties and exclusive publishing rights, I'm afraid. Mercenaries 2 is being pu...

Langband is, if I recall correctly, full of portable code. They have a build for Debian, Windows, and the whole thing is written in LISP, meaning it's OS independent. What platform are you looking to get a rogue-like to run on? I bet there are plans to get something similar running on multiple platf...

That's impressive! My first attempt yielded this:

Not bad! I know a lot of artists who still haven't gotten the hang of vector drawing.

We can get Sam and Max: Hit the Road, MM:Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, and Curse of Monkey Island on the American Amazon. They're used copies, but they're there. If you have trouble getting any old games, there's always eBay.

I really like all the old Space Quest music. I really liked the bar scene in the SQ1 VGA remake with the Blues Brothers on stage. The music on Kerona is really eerie. I also really liked the music in Full Throttle and Sam and Max. Now, non-adventure wise, the game with the best soundtrack EVER was R...

Did Core only ever make 2 point-and-click adventure games? I know that by 1995 they had pretty much moved on to the 3d realm with Tomb Raider. There was a detective game that Core published called "The Big Red Adventure," but it was developed by Dynabyte. I'm just wondering because maybe o...

To be honest, I consider Vista a step forward, plus they've fixed and added a lot of little things that makes it a much better OS than XP (which is almost 6 years old now). Yes, UAC is annoying but you can disable it. But it's still a personal choice, plus a really long discussion :) You should try...

One has to wonder what's going through the heads of the people who post "Can this non-adventure game be supported by a project that is dedicated to the emulation of adventure game engines?" Perhaps this particular fellow was thinking, "Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe was a LucasArts g...

I've had to rebuy a lot of games for a variety of reasons. I lost my original S&M disk but found a used copy at a flea market and talked the guy down to 50 cents! I loaned my copy of The Dig to my ex girlfriend, and she kept it after we broke up, so I bought myself an opened copy of it from ever...

The comics appeared in 1987, but I doubt many 1993-videogame-players knew about them. The reason I bought that game was because I had read all the comics when they were printed by Fishwrap and then Comico. Although I don't hate EMI it is not my favourite LucasArts game. I can agree with this, thoug...
