It's great to see RPGs now officially inside the tent (looking forward to seeing Exult folded in, realizing the 2004 CABAL April Fool's joke), but still all those text adventures supported with Gargoyle are left out in the cold? Yes, it's my semiannual bid to urge the powers that be to reconsider th...

I gather it's out now; some interesting tidbits from the interview at http://www.justadventure.com/article/285/interviews-fool-me-twice-the-fool-and-his-money I: "For years you've been generously offering your earlier games, Fool's Errand, At the Carnival, and 3 in Three, for free download on y...

Good to find I'm not the only one with these matters on their mind!

I was considering (someone) going even further, and looking into immortalizing his multimedia games.

Ha. Six years later I wander in here to ask exactly the same question. (Except that this time, I hope that his sequel actually is released at the end of the month, as planned.) Cliff seems inclined enough to give away his past works for free for posterity, and technical enough that he can give us sc...

adventure games of eastern europe

I know, Germany is the state most associated with the genre's ongoing commercial longevity, but we've mostly been seeing freeware releases of games from its neighbours -- Teen Agent and Soltsys from Poland, Draci Historie from the Czech republic... Unfortunately, while Cryo games share quite a bit of library code (videos, sprites, fonts, 360 view, sound & music), most of the actual logic is specific to each game and very much hardcoded. Also of note is that their file formats evolved quite a bit between games, so just handling reading vid...

I cleaned up the list (thanks Raziel) just a little bit by removing games that clearly do not follow ScummVM's philosophy (using 3D - Sorry, Serious Callers Only, this includes the awesome Azrael's Tear) and those that are worked on anyway. With a little more list-cleanup you could get a better ide...

The list is great! Perhaps it's possible to add the status of games/engines if it's already being worked on? I believe that's the case in any of them who have an engine name next to the game's name. That doesn't mean that it's any high priority, but that basic basic fundamental groundwork has been ...

Yes, i know it's waste of time and doesn't change anything regarding the possibility of implementation or speed or yaddayadda :-) While we're engaging in this wholly hypothetical exercise, I always like to remind people of a couple of the console-based SCUMM-alikes, like Nightshade for the NES by B...

Re: Is it possible to scummvm the strategy game like dune2?

Is it possible to scummvm these strategy DOS games Strangely, we take at least a few steps (but only a few) toward supporting Moonbase Commander, a strategy game somewhat akin to Dune 2, which runs on an extension of the SCUMM variant that Humongous Entertainment ran with. But it probably will neve...

I ask for the fan remake of 2 because .sav files coming out of ScummVM will not work on it or any other mundane versions of the QfG games. I doubt the QFG2 remake saves are compatible with anything since the remake adds new puzzles and just generally more of everything -- its savegame files would n...

If you like that, you'll love http://liberatedgames.com/about.php

Definitely there are criteria for SCUMMVM support beyond "we have access to the source code", but there are some compelling curiosities there, mostly out of scope here.
