I really like trumpet1, but it is great for solo performances. In an ensamble it dominates too much I suppose.

@cwadge If you need more feedback - I just tried to play King's Quest 6 with your soundfont. I'm very positively surprised in general, but I noticed, that the first meeting with Lord Alhazred in his castle (if you want to reproduce the scene: after the game starts take glittering ring from the beach...

Conquests of the Longbow design document

Sometime ago, on the Internet I came across a text document by Christy Marx which was suposedly design document for Conquests of the Longbow. It's possible that I mixed some details, but that's how I remembered it. Now I'm trying to find it again, but with no success. Could anyone point me to this t...

I'm far from being a programmer, but the game itself shows lots of similarities with scumm games, specially Full Throttle. Just take a look at their command menus, inventory, maps, side games... If their animation weren't so different, I'd say Beavis & Butthead used the scumm engine. First, I'd...

I'm glad I could help. However, just for the record: vital part of the code comes straight from ScummVM, so your appreciation should go to real developers, I just used it. To speedup your conversion process you can use such batch file: for %%f in (*.mus) do ( d2_decode "%%~nf.mus" "%%...

Sorry, as I wrote it's been few years since I compiled anything. Check link from previous post again. I've updated it and now it should work (at least compiled file has different filesize).

OK, after 3 or 4 years I have installed C++ IDE and compiled it . This is command-line tool, so you have to copy it to game folder and use it with two parameters: in and out file, for example: d2_decode unseen.mus unseen.raw The resulting files are raw PCM data without any header so you have to open...

I had the same problem as you before. Here you can find source code, that I made to convert MUS files to PCM format. You have to compile it yourself unfortunately, because despite looking I couldn't find compiled executable. I could possibly share Discworld 2 music which I already extracted and conv...

I guess I'm more of a lucasarts guy then. I don't prefer that type of stuff. I feel like KQ 6, which is my favorite, lacked much of this in its game. I didn't say I like it. I'm merely saying that you contradict yourself by implying that climbing and jumping is not in mood of King's Quest series. S...

But since he is performing jumps(watch at :29 and 1:02), climbing ropes (watch at :23), etc. that seem to be actual gameplay and not cut-scenes. In classic KQ there were also elements like climbing and jumping (and you could die in the process), so one can say judging by trailer that upcoming game ...
