Re: Shaders in iOS
Thanks. That all makes sense. My iPad model is 11-inch iPad Pro 2nd generation (2020). The issues are not dependent on specific games - it seems to be an issue with general compatibility with iOS or on my device hardware. I get the same results with about 10 different games I have tested. Actually, ...

Shaders in iOS
I have only just started testing out the iOS release of ScummVM. So far, it seems to work great on my iPad Pro 2nd generation. I have a question about shaders. I find that quite a lot of the very demanding or newer shaders do not work (not surprising) but I was disappointed that I could not get some...

Re: Phantasmagoria 2 - flashing screen problem
I am uncertain if it is worth reporting as a bug then. I do not understand enough about it, to determine if it is inherent to OpenGL being used as a graphic mode in Windows. However, I do not recall it affecting the same mode in MacOS.

Re: Phantasmagoria 2 - flashing screen problem
As an addendum, I found that basically every game that starts in full screen in "OpenGL" mode flashes back-and-forth to some extent, some worse than others, but only while launching. Most games settle down after that and there is no further issue. The problem with some FMV games such as Ph...

Phantasmagoria 2 - flashing screen problem
I tried running the Windows 95 version of "Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh" in ScummVM 2.8.0 on Windows 11 23H2. I noticed that in-between every video that is played (when in full screen mode) the screen flashes quickly between showing the Windows desktop, a black screen, and then the vi...

Re: When will Escape from Monkey Island supported
That's good to hear. Although development of the engine appears to have stopped .. which is a shame given how close to "ready" this appear to be.
In the meantime, there is always the DREAMM engine to consider.

Re: When will Escape from Monkey Island supported
I played through the whole of Escape using ScummVM a while ago. Don't know if you have the same issue but this solved it for me: Given you played through the whole game, what was the experience like - is it essentially playable and completable without missing any major features, or any show-stopper...

Re: Mouse cursor always visible - macOS and OpenGL
After some further testing, I have gone ahead and logged a bug report for this. https://bugs.scummvm.org/ticket/14433#comment:1 The issue I mentioned with DOSBox appears to have been a cursor lock setting, so it means ScummVM is the only SDL2-reliant app manifesting this behavior, that I have come a...

Re: Mouse cursor always visible - macOS and OpenGL
I am using the latest version of SDL2 (2.26.5) installed via Homebrew when I compile in Ventura. So I expect that patch is already in effect. Also, if the version of my SDL2 installation was the cause of the problem, it would not explain why the downloaded release from the ScummVM website is manifes...

Re: Mouse cursor always visible - macOS and OpenGL
After extensive testing, I have found that the issue affects the release download of version 2.7.0, or any ScummVM binary I compile myself under High Sierra, Mojave or Ventura (both 2.7.0 and latest source). The issue is hard to describe, so I have linked to a short video to demonstrate what is happ...

Re: Bug with cross-hair cursor?
Thanks for posting the ticket @Raziel. If I have anything else useful to add I will do so. I checked the other ticket you mentioned, and tested Ringworld 1 and Simon the Sorcerer 1. Using OpenGL and "x1" normal scaling, I do not experience the same cursor problems. Everything looks fine to...

Bug with cross-hair cursor?
In macOS Ventura (13.2) and ScummVM 2.7.0, I have noticed another strange behavior related to the mouse cursor. It only appears to affect LucasArts games that use the original Scumm engine and also utilize a cross-hair cursor. Games using arrow cursors (i.e. as in Loom) are not affected. The other i...

Re: Mouse cursor always visible - macOS and OpenGL
Interesting, thank you. It is hard to tell what might be happening here then. For now, I will use the version I compile myself, but for future incremental releases I will test again to see if the issue persists. It may be something specific to Ventura 13.2 which will subsequently be 'fixed'.

Re: Mouse cursor always visible - macOS and OpenGL
I compiled 2.7.0 from the source on GitHub and it does not exhibit the cursor problem in either Ventura or Mojave. 2.8.0 from the latest source is also fine. This suggests that whatever is causing the issue is directly related to the release binary provided for download. To rule out anything inside ...

Re: Mouse cursor always visible - macOS and OpenGL
I have performed some additional tests, with the following results. 1. The issue only occurs in Ventura. My Mojave installation on the same machine was not affected. 2. ScummVM 2.6.1 (November 2022) does not exhibit the problem, in either Ventura or Mojave. So, it is specific to the combination of 2...
