Have you updated your DSi? R4s will not (and probably will never) work on the new firmware (version 1.4). If that is the case, buy an Acekard 2i from some place that will pre-install the firmware for you.

You are lucky -- not even the Book of Unwritten Tales has been released internationally, much less that one. Maybe I should learn German :) A native German talkie with English subtitles would be totally acceptable (for me). Can you get that, or is the thing 100% German as of now? Believe me, I woul...

I've compiled before for Windows. I found the easiest way is Microsoft's Visual studio 2008 with a library pack downloaded from sanguine hearts which is linked to in the wiki. Plus a couple of questions that md5 answered. Thanks. I am downloading Visual Studio Express 2008 as suggested in the wiki....

Is there an online store that i could buy it from then? Ebay? It's a bit pricy there but not completely outrageous, usually in the $30 range. As people have said the companies that made/published Discworld (notably Psygnosis) no longer exist, so it's pretty hard for online stores to negotiate distr...

Being from Germany I can't really complain about a lack of great adventures. The latest one, The Whispered World, is even a candidate for ScummVM some day because it is completely rendered in 2D. It's probably the most beautiful animated adventure I've ever played. You are lucky -- not even the Boo...

Don't be mean :-P It can be confusing when you're first using ScummVM, and there aren't really any notes about Discworld in the readme yet. For all games, you should not run from CDs, you should copy the needed files to your hard drive. Go here and copy all the files listed there from both CDs. Be s...

Would it be possible to auto-rename the resulting compressed.smp and compressed.idx back to the original filename, let's say ENGLISH.SMP or GERMAN1.SMP/GERMAN1.IDX and so on? Guess they have to be named like that again cos in Discworld 2 the 2 Speechfiles would otherwise be both named "compres...

Many Stardock games (Sins of a Solar Empire notably) don't even have copy protection. I sincerely doubt they'd be using something as invasive as Starforce considering their overall company line. Then again they do allow Securom so who knows.

Re: Programming a new game

Hi, I've searched the forums, and read the FAQ but I am still confused. The FAQ suggests using SDL and LUA/Python for writing new games - I am looking at a way of delivering episodic content to a large amount of people and since ScummVM is ported to almost every console needed, this would be an ide...

Can you walk me through how to get the MD5 sums? The executable version is 0.000.274. It also seems that the release date was September 24th, 1988. Well, you can download a program like MD5 Checker or something similar. Or I think ScummVM will output the MD5 values of the files into the console if ...

Go to the subversion tree (link on right in main page) and hit "Parent Directory" a couple of times until you can open the "Branches" directory. They are in there.

You will have to compile the code yourself though at the moment (intructions here).

After compiling from the trunk...

So, I just compiled ScummVM from the trunk as I am wont to do occasionally using MinGW and I'm having a couple of issues. One is that KYRA engine games will no longer run, even with the latest kyra.dat from the website it says it's missing or corrupted. I assume the 1.1.0 code seperate from the RC1 ...

was the SCI engine disabled in the win32 SVN aswell? Just installed the latest (1.0.0pre043842) and no SCI games would run for me. Tried to re-add the games (had some on the list from previous SVN) , but they won't even recognized. Yes, it has been completely disabled in the Win32 version since 1.0...
