Re: Playing Discworld

Following this mornings announcement I dug out my Discworld PC CDs and got ready to enjoy the game on the lastest daily build. However, after following the instructions here: http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Datafiles#Discworld as to what files I needed to copy from the cd, and put them in a folde...

A number of classics are playable (and extremely enjoyable), although you'll run into some bugs here and there. For instance, the first two or three sections of Space Quest III appear to be completely error free (I can even hear sound effects now that I don't remember playing through the speaker on...

From what I understand, what he released was a soundtrack of sorts of his redone music, just to listen to. The actual thing hasn't been released yet. Hm, no I'm pretty sure there was an official release announcement on the ScummVM website a few months ago. Simply dropping 01-99.ogg into whatever di...

Though I certainly can't speak for the developers... having fooled around with various SCI games in ScummVM, I can say that the audio code on games that are large enough where compression would be worth it is very much still a work in progress. It works very well on SCI0 games, but not so well on n...

Anyone interested in SCI mp3/ogg/flac support? Shouldn't that wait for the engine to stabilise? a resource.aud compressing utility isn't that much of a problem and the sound code seems to already work just fine. I wouldn't of course compress samples within resource.0*, because those are already com...

Make sure you are using the latest daily snapshot (SVN version) from the bottom of the download page. I don't think the MADE engine is currently included in the main v0.13.1 release. Other than that it seems you did everything right, though you don't need all of those files ( check here ). Basically...

It seems pretty likely that this is a downloaded ISO version, as .iso files don't retain CD Audio information (at least as far as I know). If it is a legit copy then the only thing I can think of is that it's somehow physically damaged.

From my "investigations" into Chronomaster and Sanitarium they don't seem to have much in common. Veil of Darkness and Sanitarium seem more similar. Veil of Darkness? This wasn't made by the same company. Perhaps you're referring to Anvil of Dawn? Actually it was. Veil of Darkness was mad...

Both games are already completable in the latest daily build (on most systems).

Hi! Since you have Vista, you will need to download the Windows version of ScummVM -- the very first option on the download page, the bold entry -- and install it. To actually play the game, you will want to copy all of the game data files off the CDs and into a folder on your computer. Read the Scu...

I think that's true. I'm pretty sure there was a way to toggle between mouse and keyboard fighting in the game, but I forget how exactly.

Well, be sure you are using the latest SVN (daily build) version, from the bottom of the download page. I don't think the MADE engine is included in v0.13.1.

Well, Most SCI0 games work perfectly of the ones I've tried (except Codename: Iceman, which is sadly impossible to complete due to walkmap errors early in the game :( ). Haven't tried any of the later version SCI games, though it would be nice for them to be supported as their performance in Dosbox ...
