I can reproduce what you described with a German version of COMI (ScummVM 0.10.0svn):

Of course, it may be possible to select a SoundFont from the operating system instead. But if so, I wouldn't know how. Yes it is possible. You have to put the soundfont into /Library/Audio/Sounds/Banks/ or ~/Library/Audio/Sounds/Banks/ . Now you can select it through System Preferences » QuickTime ...

You only need the file called “Day of the Tentacle Data” from the CD-ROM (as stated on the game data files page ). Let's assume you copied it to the directory C:\DOTT\ .
