I would assume it should open the menu, but I'm not sure I haven't completed grim for ages.

Perfect Assassin was an interesting game that would fit in residual, graphically the complete opposite of Grim as the scenery is 3D and the characters are 2D.

Well if you know how to compile your own residual you can see how far alexbevi & scott-t have got in implementing TLJ:

Number one on my wishlist too. An excellent game but sadly it's a big problem to get it running on modern computers. :( Not only modern computers, even on Windows 98 it crashed quite often. It is a bug ridden game, I think it was rushed out as the company was running out of money although I could b...

Well it uses 3D models so would have to be part of Residual not ScummVM. There is the start of a noir engine here:
http://tinselnoir.svn.sourceforge.net/v ... inselnoir/
But it hasn't been updated for 2 years.

I haven't run across that error but I would assume that it is asking for the CD because it can't find one of the files. Check that you have all the files needed, here is the list of files I have in my Grim Fandango folder: - credits.lab - data000.lab - data001.lab - data002.lab - data003.lab - data0...

I take no remastering to mean they won't be re-working the video, sound, music and graphics from the original source files before they were compressed for the original PC release.

So essentially the same as ScummVM; same data files new platform.

Oh right, when I read that I took it to mean that they created the Lands of Lore series after they split from SSI and there fore maybe SSI owned the EOB game engine so Westwood couldn't use it for Lands of Lore. But if they were already working on Lands of Lore that idea goes out the window.

Didn't the development team split from the publisher to create the Lands of Lore series? I'm not 100% sure as this is from wikipedia.

That was my point, those are problems with the original exe that make a Noir engine in ResidualVM a good idea.

The problem with Discworld Noir isn't just the fact that it only runs on Windows, it is also very unstable and prone to crashing even on Windows 95/98 which it was designed for. I think it is so buggy because Perfect Entertainment had to push it out the door quickly before they folded. I could be wr...

Development seems to have sped up since moving the code to a git repository. Loading/Saving and Manny looking at usable objects has been implemented and the bug in the lip sync that stop the textures from changing has been fixed.
