You don't make games for residual, you can make an engine to run a game in residual. ResidualVM is like ScummVM it is an interpreter for games (it replaces the original exe file) not a tool for developing a game.

The reason is in the comments of the bug.

I had a look at the files on the dvd but as far as I can tell there is no way to get the files needed without running the setup program as they are all compressed in *.exe, *.1 and *.2 files.

You need to install the games with wine and then copy the files from where they were installed too. You will also need the dxa videos from here: http://www.scummvm.org/downloads/#extras as the Sold out dvd version has the mpeg videos which are not supported any more by ScummVM.

What about the spec of your laptop? Could it be that your laptop is too slow?

You might find that it is the level of piracy compared to the cost of production as it is much cheaper to produce a PC DVD or PC and iOS download than a NDS cartridge.

You might need to set the flag to allow the file to be run as an executable. It's in the properties of the file, Permissions tab at the bottom.

You don't need to run sh or as root, I just run "./configure" and I have no problems. I'm also running Ubuntu 10.10.

If I wanted to buy MI:SE & MI2:SE from steam for use with these patches would I need to install the steam software and would I need to keep the steam software once I've downloaded them?

Or are there other places to buy them?
